Many of us have loads of Halloween candy still lying around well after the holiday is over. There is no use in throwing away all that great Halloween candy! Why not put it to great use at the next big holiday, Thanksgiving? Here are some ideas for using your leftover Halloween candy for Thanksgiving dinner.

Candy Bar Pie. A light and inexpensive candy bar pie is an excellent dessert to have alongside the more traditional, heavier pumpkin pie. Crunchy candy bars, such as Butterfingers, work best for this super simple recipe. To use your leftover Halloween candy to make a Thanksgiving candy bar pie, just fluff a stick of room temperature cream cheese with a hand mixed. Fold in a container of whipped topping. Crush the leftover Halloween candy bars, fold them into the mixture, and fill a graham cracker pie crust with the tasty ingredients. Chill for at least 4 hours and until ready to eat!

Candy Corn or Mellowcreme Decorations. Leftover Halloween candy corn and mellowcreme pumpkins can make a lovely decoration for your Thanksgiving dinner table. Try scattering some candy corn around your dinner centerpiece. Cover simple cardstock napkin rings with alternating up and down candy corn pieces, attached with hot glue, for a very cute festive touch to the Thanksgiving table. Small glass jars look beautiful when filled with the orange striped candies or small pumpkins. All of these ideas get one more use out of that leftover Halloween candy corn.

Solid Chocolate Candy Bars. Save any solid chocolate candy bars from your leftover Halloween stash for a variety of Thanksgiving uses. Solid chocolate can be melted for dipping. Solid Halloween chocolate bars can be grated to add lovely chocolate shavings to desserts, or a special touch to after dinner coffee. Pull out those leftover solid chocolate bars from your Halloween candy and utilize it at your Thanksgiving meal.

Marshmallow Treats. Do you have leftover Halloween marshmallow treats (such as bags of colored marshmallows of Halloween peeps?). If so, don't hesitate to use this Halloween leftover on your Thanksgiving sweet potatoes. Just mix the Halloween leftovers in with traditional jumbo white marshmallows and no one will notice the subtle pastel colors.

Don't feel like you have to either consume or dispose of Halloween candy leftovers right away. You can utilize some of your Halloween candy leftovers at your Thanksgiving meals. Try these ideas, or come up with some of your own, for using Halloween candy leftovers at Thanksgiving.

What a great idea to use up all that candy. I have had a salad with candy bars in it, I'll have to find the recipe.
