How to Let Go of Your Past

You Can Get Over Hard Times, Stupid Mistakes & Anything Else Keeping You

We all do stupid things. We are only human. Look at this way ok? If you didn't make mistakes you wouldn't have learned. Plus you can turn your mistakes into a way of helping others.

I'm a Christian and I heard someone explain how and why bad things happen. They explained that it was like a parent watching their child learn to walk. When the parent sees the child is ready they let go even knowing the child may fall. The parent lets go because they know they will be there for their child to hold and comfort. Plus the child will be stronger and walk farther next time.

God gave us free will. If we may make mistakes, bad things may happen but we can use these to help others. I was sexually abused as a child. I don't blame God. I know He hurt and cried along with me. Plus I grew stronger because of it. I am who I am today.

Just as you are who you are today because of your "mistakes". You grew stronger and if you hadn't gone through those tough times you wouldn't be with the man you are today.

It is the same for me. I dropped out of high school due to depression and other problems. I got my GED got married at 18. My husband is wonderful and I love him dearly. I had my first child was just 20. I was in NO WAY ready to be a mother. I have gone through a lot of tough times mentally and worry it hasn't made me the mom my kids needed me to be.

BUT if I did wait to have kidsI wouldn't have any of the kids God has blessed me with. So I am thankful for where I am now.

I love this saying I read somewhere: We looked at our life as just one piece of a puzzle. It is bumpy and odd and just doesn't seem to fit. But God sees the whole puzzle and it is a beautiful picture.

You can get over the hard times. You already have. ; )

Remembering the puzzle story helps me through hard times and I've had plenty. I learned I have a painful bladder disorder back in March & it also has so many other disorders that come along with it like migraines, IBS and painful joints to just name a few. There are days I can't get out of bed. PLUS I homeschool my kids. But there are others a lot worse and that gets me up and moving!

No matter what your past is you are past it. Try to think of how you can use your hard times and turn it into something good!
