Tips to Cover Facial Blemishes While Healing

Facial scars often occur from acne scars or through hormonal changes. During pregnancy, menopause, and immediately after breastfeeding there may be an increase in notice ability of the scars when no makeup is worn. The unevenness of the skin may be more pronounced. Make up applications that fade during the work day may leave the area or scarring completely visible to others. Here are three tips on how to lighten facial scars and cover facial blemishes while healing.

Lighten Facial Scars

Lemon juice can be used as a natural alternative to chemical based skin bleaching products for acne scar removal. Gently squeeze the juice from half a lemon in a juicer. Separate out a small amount for a single skin treatment. Use a cotton ball or q tip to apply the juice directly on the scar or area of facial discoloration. In the event there is no juicer available, simply rub a lemon slice on the scarred area. Refrigerate the remaining juice to use daily for the rest of the week. This skin treatment can be worn at night under a moisturizer. Avoid using the lemon under foundations or face powders. The acid in the lemon juice may disturb the makeup application and prevent it from staying on.

Uneven Skin Tone

Black soap is a great way to gradually even skin tone. Look for black soap in ethnic markets, local beauty supply stores, or purchase online. Skin bleaching creams can be used nightly directly on the uneven area. Skin bleaching creams do not have to be used with the purpose of changing the skins tone. The bleaching cream can be used to even out the skin tone. This may require using the cream until desired lightening of the scar is reached, or the skin tone looks even without wearing heavy makeup. When the desired results are achieved, consider using natural methods like lemon juice to maintain the results.

Foundation Brush

Concealing blemishes with concealer and full coverage foundation can help make the imperfections unnoticeable. Using a foundation brush instead of a sponge to apply the foundation will result in a better application. Experiment with affordable drug store foundation brushes or beauty supply brand brushes. Oily skin may prevent the concealer and make up from lasting all day. Milk of magnesia applied topically under concealer, before the rest of the makeup is applied helps to hide the scar all day long. The results usually last until the makeup is washed off with makeup remover.

Lemon juice is a great all natural way to improve the look of the face. Skin bleaching creams can be used to help speed up results. Invest in a quality foundation brush, concealer, and face primer to hide the scars until they heal.
