How to Use Linkback URLS on Your Blog

Shannon Frye
If you've never created a blog before and you want to create a blog I would highly suggest going through WordPress which is located at www.wordpress.com. Instead of having different pages of blogs on different sites, you can keep track of them all at WordPress. It's very easy to use and get the hang of. It's also free to use which is really nice. Wordpress is a great place to go through when you create a blog. It has an automatic ping feature which is nice. You can also keep track of websites on your blogroll.

When it comes to blogs, you want to get as much traffic as possible. In order to get traffic you can list your blog with Google and Yahoo. They will have a spider search over your site and they will add your blog to their search engines in a few weeks. With it comes to a blog you will want to list it in as many search engines as possible to get more visitors. Another way to get a lot of visitors is to comment on other blogs that you find. You can comment on the blog and usually, the person who owns the blog will come back to check out your blog as well.

There is what is called a trackback URL. This is always located right above the comments section on some blogs. Some blogs will not have a trackback URL because the person who created the blog will hide it. Some blogs will have a trackback URL however. You can cut and paste this URL and write a brief article on the blog that they created. Say positive things about the blog and state where you found it. Try to make it a blog which is similar to your blog. You will want to search in the search engine for the topic you are writing about and look for a trackback URL.

Once you find the URL you will save to copy and paste it. You will want to write out the information about the article in the text field. When you are done, you can go to the bottom of the page under the upload section. Here you will see an area where you can place the trackback URL. When you submit this URL if will notify the other person who owns the blog. They will see that you have referenced their article and they will come to your website to take a look at it. You will also want to leave comments on their page as well. Make sure that the comment pertains to what they wrote about and make sure that it isn't too short.
