Kelly Fleming
Women have been trying to fight wrinkles for decades now. There are virtually hundreds of products on the market today claiming they are the best. Thousands of women will decide to lip injections to get rid of their unwanted wrinkles.

What are Lip Injections and how do they work?

Lip Injections can increase the size of the lips. The can make for fuller more beautiful lips. Implanting material will be injected into the lips. There are different types of material it will be up to the Doctor and you to choose one. Some of them are only temporary while others are permanent. This procedure can be costly depending upon where it is done. It is safer to go to a Doctor who knows what he is doing and spend $500 to $5,000. It is not a good idea to go to someone whom does not have that much experience. If they mess up you could have long lasting health problems.

Types of Injecting Material

There is a long list of fillers but the most common one is: Alloderm, this is a natural collegan sheet. Some other material injections to mention are:

Collagen injections

Fat injections

Artecoll injections

Autologen injections

Dermalogen injections

Fascia injections

HylaForm injections

Restylane injections

Side Effects

The side effects and risks are basically the same with any surgical procedure; fever, infection, and trouble with the anesthesia. Related risks can be stiff lip, cold sores/ fever blisters, and scarring. It is very important to follow up and listen to the Doctors orders. Most of these risks are not fatal, but can impact your life to some degree.

The Healing Process

Everyone will heal in their own way, and some faster than others. If complications have come into play then of course the healing time will be longer. It will usually take a couple of days for the pain to subside. Follow the dosage of the pain medicine correctly, and as prescribed. This will help to ease discomfort and stress to escalate healing times.

Follow cleaning guidelines, an infection at this point would basically suck. Cleaning is so important because it will keep infection away, reduce scarring, and heal faster.

If lip injections are for you, make a consultation with a Doctor to discuss the whole procedure before, during, and after. You can decide if injections will be better for you over creams, and massage.
