How to Look Exotic Without Getting a Damaging Tan

Susan Brown
Of course, you could just get a tan right from a bottle - but who has the time for all the upkeep, and who wants to look like an orange, anyway? The truth is, you can look ravishingly exotic even without a tan (and without all the damaging effects that come from a tan). So come on, ladies, and keep your youthful skin for years to come while still flaunting a decidedly exotic flair.

In fact, did you know that most Brazillian women are very fair in complexion? It is true that many of those women force the tan look, too - in fact, getting a tan is a major business in Brazil. But what about the real women, the ones who aren't suckered into the tanning industry but who are still sexy nonetheless with their fair skin? There are some major tricks you, too, can learn!

First and foremost, hair is a big deal. It is for every woman, really! If you want an exotic look, it's good to start with the hair - the longer, the better. The more waves, the better. That is unless you have very dark hair - then straight works as well. If you have dark hair, you can also try going for a sun-bleached look that allows the beholder to see your dark roots but there is a decidedly "dipped" look where you have applied lightener. If you naturally have blonde hair, try going dark - try a dark brown and add some waves. But the point is, you want your hair to look long and exotic.

Then, color is a big deal. The more bright colors, the more exotic the look. Bold florals are always exotic, as are bohemian prints. Try big, flirty skirts with bold prints or go with the popular maxi dress that is so in-season right now and doesn't seem to be leaving anytime soon! Try pretty colors like corals and turquoise.

You don't have to look slutty to be exotic, so please don't confuse the two. You can get lots of skin coverage and still be exotic with skirts and dresses that are long enough in length to be decent and even office-friendly, as well as gorgeous tops and blouses that don't flaunt too much skin. In fact, the more you can leave to the imagination, the better - in fact, this is an art for exotic women. Learn how to pick shapes in clothing that are feminine and yet leave things to the imagination. A man likes that! And don't worry, people will know you've "got it" if you really do - no need to show them in public. Clothing accentuates you and is supposed to be playful in the right way.

Makeup can also be a key factor in the exotic look, especially if you are very fair with perhaps blue eyes. In this case, you want to definitely darken the eye. Blue eyes are ok for an exotic look, so never feel that you can't pull it off. Using dark eyeliner with a little eye shadow can work wonders and if you are not sure how to properly apply it, then walk into your local department store to the cosmetic counter and there is sure to be someone to show you the ropes! Just tell them you want an exotic, sultry eye! The eyes make all the difference.

And last but not least, accessories are always an exotic woman's best friend! Chunky bangles with eye-catching colors, big exotic chandalier earrings or even hoops, and even the smaller items like toe rings and anklets can add a decidedly exotic element to your walk.

You can be a totally gorgeous, exotic woman without falling into the trap of tanning your skin! It's done on a daily basis by exotic women all around the world - just follow all these wonderful little tips!
