How to Look Stylish when You're Pregnant

Dressing when you're pregnant can be difficult, you want to be as comfortable as you possibly can, but you still want to look nice. Below are some tips that can help look stylish and still feel comfy throughout all the stages of your pregnancy, without spending a fortune!

In the beginning.

When your bump is still at it's early stages, the chances are you won't have gained much weight anywhere else. Stick with your normal tops and trousers until they don't reach over your bump any more, it makes no sense to buy maternity clothes until you absolutely need them.

If you're just going out to the shops (and you have your coat on!) leave your jeans undone, as long as your coat covers the waistband, no one will be able to tell and they won't fall down (unfortunately it doesn't work with trousers!)

My friend used to do this with all 4 of her pregnancies and no one ever noticed!

When your bump starts to get a little bigger, leggings are a good option, they stretch to fit so you can cover up and still show off your slimmer bits. Plus they are a much cheaper option than maternity clothes!

It's also important that your tops stretch too, look for tops that contain elastane, these will stretch brilliantly and ping back into shape! Also look for length in tops, and consider buying a size bigger. These tops can be bought really quite cheaply and can be easily accessorised. Go for v-necks that will flatter an ever-increasing cleavage!

Maternity jeans.

Maternity jeans or any maternity clothes can be expensive, trying buying bigger jeans before you opt for maternity jeans. Look for panels at the sides rather than at the front, these are just as effective, but much more discreet!

If you are buying maternity tops, look for ones that are fairly plain (patterned ones look too frumpy) and ones that have a panel in the middle, this will accommodate your bump without giving you any added volume anywhere else.

Shoes.

Many women still wear their high heel knee high boots throughout their pregnancy, but this isn't for everyone, if you're more comfy in flats, stick with them.Or you could get some slouchy boots, these are stylish, but still comfy.
