How To Look Wide Awake Using Makeup

Even After Weeks Without Sleep!

Have you stayed out late, or have you been working until 3 AM in the morning? You don't need piles of makeup to make yourself decent again, just a few simple tips. Fake wide awake, sparkling eyes and dewy skin and no-one will be the wiser.

Tip #1: Eyes
When people look at you, they immediately notice your eyes. If your eyes are red and puffy, of course everyone will know you haven;t been sleeping! Put some eye drops in your eyes to reduce redness and to help you feel refreshed. If you wear makeup, and this will really help, white eyeliner under your eyes and in the corners will open your eyes up. A bright shimmery eyeshadow will make your eyes look large and further apart. Mascara helps too, add two coats. Apply an eye brightener, or a foundation a shade lighter than your skin, onto your sleep circles (under your eyes).

Tip #2: Skin
Nothing says "I haven't slept a wink!" like tired, dull skin. First of all, exfoliate to refresh your skin and remove dead skin cells. Apply a thick face cream to moisturize your skin, to achieve that dewy look. If you apply foundation, use primer first, otherwise your foundation will slip away halfway through the day. Your foundation SHOULD NOT be powder or matte because they settle into fine lines, making skin look older. A dewy, light-reflecting finish will distract away from skin, and making you look younger and skin plumper.

Tip #3: Color
If your skin has no color, you will probably look washed out. Apply blush to your cheeks, this will make you look fresh-faced and livelier. A creme blush looks the most natural because it blends into your skin, unlike a powder blush that sits on top of your skin. Your lips can have either clear gloss or a nice bright color. A nude color will make you appear even more washed out. A bright color will draw attention to your lips, and sneakily away from your face.

All of these tips will be very useful for you and your skin, after a night (or two) without sleep. You don't need a lot of makeup, because too much makeup will draw attention to your whole face, and then people will notice your tiredness. Remember to drink lots of water to re-hydrate your skin, and to get at least eight hours sleep every night. And if all else fails, over sized sunglasses are always handy!
