Basil bath steam- Basil is said to help calm the nervs and focus the mind. Follow the directions for the Metabolic Mint Steam using this ingredients: 3cups boiling water, 1small handful fresh basil leaves and chamomile flowers or 1tablespoon of each in dried form, 1 large towel.
Metabolic Mint Steam- Mint is said to increase energy. Steep a separate glass of mint tea to sip in the bath after completing this steam. 3 cups boiling water, 1small handful fresh mint leaves or 1 tablespoon of it in dried form. Place a large ceramic or plastic bowl on a flat surface. ( if steaming in the bath, consider placing the bowl on a low waterproof stool or tray. ) Add the mint to the bowl. Pour the boiling water into the bowl and let the mint steep for at least 2 minutes. Slowly lower your face over the steam until you are at a distance above the misting that feels comfortable. Cover your head and the bowl with the towel, trapping the steam inside. Inhale deeply for 5 to 10 minutes.
Grapefruit- and- Fennel Facial Steam- 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, 1 / 2 grated grapefruit rind, 1 cup coarsely chopped fresh fennel stalks and leaves . Mix ingredients together in a large bowl and add 4cups boiling water. Drape a towel over your head and inhale deeply for 10 minutes . Feathery fennel fronds make this botanical brew beautiful as well as healing. Grapefruit gives the steam an antiseptic and astringent quality ; fennel deeply cleanses, removes skin impurities and reduces inflammation when applied as a compress.
