1. Work new muscles. The best way to jump start a fitness plan is to work the muscles that you do not usually work on a daily basis. If you are a couch potato, any kind of daily activity will show up on your figure. If you have a typical workout that you normally do, you will need to challenge yourself. Ordering a fitness DVD such as a boot camp type, will give you a difficult enough workout to show a big improvement in a short period of time. You should aim to do this type of workout a few times a week.
2. Cut out junk food. For the next couple of weeks, you will need to slice your calories to see big results. You will need to choose a plan. You may cut carbs, or use a meal replacement plan if you do not have the time to count calories. Make sure that you do eat! Starving yourself will actually make you gain weight in the long run.
3. Be more active in general. This is a great time to start a huge project. You may choose to wash and detail your cars. Another great idea is to clean your house room by room in a spring cleaning type of method. This will allow you to burn tons of calories. You will also have the peace of a clean home when you are done with this weight loss effort. This will help you to control eating because of stress related issues.
4. Check your water intake. Many people can lose two to three pounds a week by replacing soda and calorie heavy juices with water. If you do not like water, make it easier by mixing it with a 5 calorie drink packet such as Pink Lemonade. Drink at least 6 glasses or 4 bottles of water a day to see a change.
5. Do not eat after 6:00 p.m. for any reason. It is true that your body does not know what time it is. What is not debatable though, is the fact that if eat a bag of chips at midnight, we are probably not going to burn it off. You can cure the habit of skipping breakfast and eating late at night by eating less at night and waking up hungry in the morning. This is a common problem that is easily fixed,
6. While we are on the subject, you must get enough sleep. If you are staying up late every night, you will have to give up this habit for a few weeks. Sleep helps your weight loss effort in so many ways. It will also suppress negative appetite enhancing chemical signals and give you an edge on not wanting to overeat.
If you change a few negative habits and get moving, you will be ten pounds lighter before you know it!
