How to Lose Love Handles for Good

Love handles have the most ironic name in the world. There is nothing to love about them. Hate handles are probably a better way to describe the roll of fat around your belly. If you are tired of feeling unattractive due to these bothersome rolls, then you need to learn how to lose your love handles. Unfortunately there is no magic solution, but it's possible with a little hard work and dedication.

In order to learn how to lose love handles, you need to make sure that you really understand what they are. Love handles are the result of too much body fat and loose skin. People may be surprised that some skinny people have love handles, but there's nothing strange about that at all. A person can look slim but still have a high percentage of body fat.

That roll of fat did not just show up overnight, so getting rid of it will not be instantaneous either. Do not lose hope, because it is possible to learn how to lose your love handles. Just be prepared to make some changes in your life that will better your health.

Of course, part of your love handle blasting regimen is exercise. Exercise is a key component. A good solid 30 minutes a day of cardio is needed. If this seems like a lot to you, feel free to start slower and gradually work your way up. Find some kind of activity that you enjoy so that you will stay with it. You could try swimming, running, walking on the treadmill, using an elliptical machine, bicycling, or even some kind of active sport. It really does not matter what activity you choose, as long as you make sure to do it at least 5 days a week.

However, when tyring to lose love handles, exercise alone is not enough. You must also lower your body fat percentage. The goal doesn't have to be to lose weight, but to instead lose excess fat. You don't really need to eat less, just eat better. Eat your food in the proper portions, and follow the guidelines set by the food pyramid.

Cut out excess saturated and trans fats from your diet. Also decrease the amount of sugar and simple carbs (white bread, potatoes, pasta, white rice, etc.) that you eat. Naturally, you should replace the foods that you've eliminated with healthy alternatives such as fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, nuts, tofu, beans and whole grains.

Another aspect to learning how to lose you love handles includes understanding that what you drink has a tremendous impact on your body. Drinking plenty of water each day can help your body to flush all sorts of unwanted toxins out of the body. This includes helping you to shed fat. Drinking water keeps you hydrated as well as helps you to feel full for longer periods of time.

All of these components are necessary to be successful in your body transformation. You must realize that for you to learn how to lose love handles, you need to understand the human body and what it needs. You must exercise, reduce your body fat percentage, and drink 8 glasses of water each day. As you practice these techniques, you will find that you will feel confident in your own skin again.
