How to Lose Weight

Elsie
There are hundreds and hundreds of various kinds of diets on the market today. It is so hard to choose one that is right for your body. No one can tell you which one is good and which one isn't good. What works well for one may not work at all on some one else. Our bodies are all different. We all take in nutrients in different ways. Be sure to always check with a doctor before starting any kind of diet with supplements. Especially if you take medicine. The appetite suppressant could cause a reaction or interfere in absorption of your medicine.

Another point to remember is to not weigh yourself every day. The reason for this is you gain and lose water each day. Some days you will weigh less and the next day weigh more. It is discouraging to see you have gained a pound or two when you have tried so hard to lose it. Therefor don't weigh but once a week. Be sure to weigh your self in the early A.M and weigh at the same time every day. Different times of the day has influence on your weight. You weigh less in A.M than later on in the day. Later on in the day you have eaten and drank fluids all day. So its important to weigh first thing in the morning and the same time every day.

You can still have your fried chicken and chocolate cake and other foods you love so well. Just eat them in moderation and smaller portions and don't eat them often. If you are a meat lover and must have meat. Stick to lean cuts of meat. Again use smaller portion. Best to avoid meat except maybe once a week. Eat all you want of fresh veggies and fresh fruit. Lay off canned fruit in cans as they are packed in heavy syrups.

If you are a soda lover like I am. Don't drink anything but diet soda. It took me awhile to get used to the taste of diet soda but now I cant stand to drink anything but diet soda as the rest are too sweet for me. Be sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. This doesn't mean kool aid, tea or coffee. it means plain old fashioned water.

Exercise should be included in your dieting. Most people today cant afford to go to gyms but you don't have to. You can exercise at home. You don't need expensive equipment or any equipment. Use what you have at home. Everyone has can goods in their kitchens. Put 1 can in each hand. With hands hanging down at sides with can in each hand, bring you hands straight up till they are straight out from body. Then lower them back down to your sides. Do this 10 times and rest. Holding onto cans raise your arms up even with your shoulders and rotate your arms in a circle. Do this 10 times and rest.

For the legs- lie on the floor ( if unable to get down in the floor can lie on a bed ) raise each leg up and hold it for a few seconds then lower it back down to the floor. Do this 10 times. Then switch and do the other leg. Get a chair and stand behind it. Holding onto the back of the chair raise your leg straight out in back of you. Do this 10 times then do the other leg. Rest.

For stomach and abdomen muscles. Lie down in floor ( or bed ). Put hands behind head and push self up to sitting position. This is very hard to do at first but keep practicing it gets better. There are many ways to exercise that doesn't cost anything using everyday items around the house. I love to dance and my favorite way to exercise is to put in a DVD called "Dancing to the oldies" by Richard Simmons. This way I can dance which I love to do and don't have to think about exercising which I hate to do.

Remember 1. Check with your doctor before starting a new diet. 2. Exercise using things found around the house. 3. Make exercise fun so you don't think of it as exercising. 4. Eat small portions. 5. Drink at least 6-8 glasses of water per day. 6. Use supplements only if you rally need them and with doctors o.k especially if on medicine.
