How to Lose Weight the Healthy Way

Eat Healthy and Exercise

If you were to ask a person what they would like to change about their bodies, most would say that they would like to lose weight. Losing weight can be one of the hardest things most people ever do in their life, and seeing how obesity has become a large problem in American society, it seems that people are unable to keep their weight under control. The simple fact is that losing weight is not as hard as people making it out to be.

There are two basic components that are absolutely necessary in order to shed unwanted pounds.

The first component is Caloric intake. Simply put the amount of calories you are eating through your diet versus the amount of calories you burn off via daily activities. If you are eating more than you are using, you will gain weight, and if you are eating less than what you use daily, then you will lose weight.

In order to achieve a negative Caloric intake, you are going to have to exercise daily. There is no way that simply eating less calories that you are going to lose weight without exercising, well at least lose the weight for good without encountering serious health problems. The other downside to just eating less is that your body will turn into a fat storage machine instead of a fat burning machine. Think about it, if your body is getting an adequate amount of calories, it's not going to need to store fat for future use. On the flip side, if you jolt your body into thinking that it's not going to get what it needs to function, it will try to store more fat just in case you stop eating.

The best way to exercise is do something everyday that works your entire body. The easiest way is to go swimming, because that uses more calories than any other activity. Running, walking, and lifting weights are some other methods to increase your activity level.

The second component to losing weight the healthy way is to eat healthy whole foods. Stay away from processed food, such as High fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils. High fructose corn syrup is present in many foods, because it is a cheap sugar that companies use to make their food taste better. HFCS is almost always converted to body fat because if your liver is full of glycogen, it'll turn it into something it can use later for energy (i.e. fat). Your diet should be composed of fruits, vegetables, lean meat, and basic cards like rice and wheat pasta. Stay away from anything that comes out of a box, and try to cook your own meals instead of going out to dinner at fast food places, or even sit down restaurants.
