If you ask 10 people on the street what are the things that concerns them most, weight would be amongst the top 5 concerns. Our lives have changed dramatically over the centuries, the pace has quickened drastically, we have a million things to do everyday, things are so convenient for us and most of us have sedentary jobs that makes the inevitable happen - weight gain. Weight gain has become a great concern for almost every city dweller. Vanity aside, weight gain is a threat to our health. Changing our lifestyles slightly could improve that. So here are a few things you could do to lose a few pounds and feel a lot healthier.

1)
Drink lots of water- water can flush out toxins in our bodies that can harm us. The good thing is that water carries no calories.

2)
Start the day with a glass of water - A glass of water lets out all your digestive juices and in a way lubricates your insides.

3)
Include food with more water contents in your diet such as tomatoes, watermelons - Again, they can fill you up without the calories and they taste great.

4)
East fresh fruits rather than drink fruit juice - Fruit contains a lot of fiber, which is needed by your body, and fruits are an excellent source of vitamins.

5)
Increase your fiber intake - Your body needs a lot of fiber. Fiber lowers cholesterol and helps speed up digestion in the gut which is believed to reduce the risk of certain cancers.

6)
Eat loads of vegetables - Vegetables are your best bet when it comes to losing pounds. Leafy green vegetables are your best choices.

7)
Drink a glass of water before your meals - You will feel fuller without gorging down a huge amount of food

8)
Choose fresh fruit to processed fruits - Processed and canned fruits are almost always sweetened, and you don't want the calories

9)
Avoid sweetened drinks - soft drinks packs a lot of sugar, and that in turn will become calories, so do your best to stay away from them.

10)
Watch what you eat - Keep a watchful eye on every thing that goes into your body. Look out for dressings and sauces, sometimes the garnishes can be richer than the food itself.

Look after your temple, take care of its constructions and it will stand tall, and look good for a long long time.
