How To Lose Weight Before You Get Married: Last Minute Dieting Tips for Your Wedding

NOM
If you have been dieting for a special event like a wedding, a reunion or job interview or big date, those last few days can make a big difference. Here are a few tips to help you reach the finish line skinner.

Consider a diet high in fruits and vegetables as much as possible, especially those that are high in fiber. The high fiber, generally 35 grams a day, will help you lose weight quickly. When possible, soothe the munchies with sliced apples and pears or other such fruit with some chocolate syrup drizzled on top to eat if you are a nervous eater who is craving a bag of potato chips.

Avoid foods that cause temporary water gain and bloating. Salty foods will cause water retention, so skip fried foods and salty foods, such as what is frequently found in pizza sauce or take out. Try to stick with plain chicken if possible, be aware of the ingredients and salt intake in ketchups, mustards, and sauces like honey mustard. Soups while at times higher in sodium, generally reduces the effect of your caloric intake for the day for up to ten percent. A lunch of soup with some celery sticks with dip and some iced tea make for a great dieters lunch that is reasonably filling. While caffeine itself will have a slimming effect, carbonated sodas like cola can cause bloating as well.

It is important to not look sickly due to dieting, so try to drink as much water as possible during weight loss to stay hydrated and make your skin glow.

Nicholas Perricone the skin care guru recommends a diet that is rich in salmon and chicken, avoiding high sugar content foods including vegetables like potatoes and grains like white breads which often cause bloating since they are starchy.

Select your panties, bra, pantyhose if any and slip in well advance, perhaps even wearing these exact items to your dress fittings so that you will not elect a poor fitting pair that causes panty lines or one that does not have enough coverage at the last minute. If you use a garment like Spanx, make sure they are ready and have no tears or snags since this will alter how your clothes fit.

Try to exercise enough to burn calories, but not so much that you are too sore for your event. Exercise likely causes little effect on weight loss the day before. However light stretching and yoga can likely make you stand taller and maintain posture, which visually makes you look thinner.

Try to get up early and get rest as needed. Sleeping during the day and not at night alters your metabolism.

Lotions and creams with caffeine can improve the appearance of the skin and minimize the appearance of cellulite or the flab hanging off of "chicken arms".

Make sure that you do not lose too much weight. A number of nervous brides do not eat much in the days before the wedding due to being busy and stress and in addition to dieting, the just get too thin. So keep track of your calorie intake and make sure that you do not cut back too much on food intake, less you end up having your dress hanging off of you.
