How to Lose Weight by Renting Netflix Workout Videos

This is for all of you Netflix members and potential Netflix members. You know when you are aware of something but the impact of the situation does not quite hit home yet, and you can go months missing out? That is what I felt like in regards to Netflix's instant viewing program.

I am sure that I cannot be the only person who does not really care about going to the gym for a workout. Now don't get me wrong; I would be more than happy to go if someone dropped a free gym membership into my lap, but even then I have to be realistic. There are other issues that I have to factor in. For instance, going to the gym requires that I:

get dressed

arrange for a sitter, if it is one of those gyms that does not have daycare available

get my kids dressed, if I have to take them

factor in driving time

worry about what exactly am I going to do when I get there.

So even if I had that free membership it just may sit around for a few months to most of the year, before I sort out all of these issues and work up the energy to actually go. Now I know this makes me sound slightly pathetic and even a little lazy and that's fine. It still won't change the fact that I am not a big fan of the gym.

Does that mean that I do not want to work out? No way! I would love to tone up all those places that get a little loose over the years and post a couple of babies. Recently, after a poor attempt to play tag with my ridiculously energetic children, I decided to focus on my health. Why not tone up, get the benefit of a healthier heart, and be able to play tag with my children all at the same time!

Since going to the gym was not an option, I jogged (a little ... a very little), biked (not so much), and dusted off my old Tae-Bo DVDs. I got bored really quickly. Then Netflix saved me from getting back in front of the television to watch other people be active (So You Think You Can Dance is back on now!). As I was updating my queue, I decided to take a look at the movies available to watch instantly. I browsed the topics, and my eyes fell on Sports & Fitness. From there, I followed the link to Workouts.

I found all kinds of great workout programs that fit into any kind of schedule that I want. Now instead of going out to the gym or purchasing more DVDs, I can energize myself with a number of choices. Everything from yoga to dance workouts to strength and flexibility training are available with just the click of a button and I pay less than 20 buck a month and I get to stay in the comfort of my own home. I am not planning to be high school skinny but Netflix will have me on my way to tighter buns in no time.

Don't forget about the tools that you already have before deciding to spend that money on a gym membership that you probably won't take full advantage of. Check out the Netflix workouts available for instant watching.
