-Everywhere leads to somewhere: You don't really need to exercise if you walk to where you need to go as much as possible. I've done this method and I've realized that there is a shortcut to everywhere you need to go. All that you need to do is find it. If you walk to nearby places instead of taking the bus or the car; you'll lose weight, learn to get to certain places faster, learn to walk faster, be able to relax and clear your mind, listen to music, make your legs look hot, save money and save the world in the process by not straining any of the world's resources. Maybe it is because I live near everywhere I need to go, but I walk all of the time. I rarely take the city bus and I don't drive. But, I also feel a lot healthier walking. Maybe you will, as well.
-Eat in moderation: Nobody would have to worry about not eating carbs or cheating on a diet if they don't stuff their faces. Not only is eating a lot a strain on your resources, but it is also a strain on your heart as well. I believe that anybody can eat anything they want as long as you just eat in moderation. Eat when you're hungry, not when you're sad or bored, or high. If somebody wants a chocolate cake; they should eat a slice, not the entire cake. If somebody wants a donut, they should eat one instead of five. It's not that difficult to do and people will be a lot happier in the long run. Besides, it would be really cool when three days pass and somebody finds the majority of a chocolate cake still in the refrigerator.
-Dance like nobody's watching: There are a lot of people who watch "Dancing With The Stars," and those who watch the show notice that the celebrities who participate tend to lose more and more weight the longer that they stay on the show. This method does hold true, but you don't have to be a celebrity to dance until you lose weight. You don't even have to spend any money. All you have to do is pop in a CD full of dance music and pretend that you're Cameron Diaz in Charlie's Angels. It doesn't even matter if you can't dance, because chances are that nobody is going to see you or you're surrounded by people that are afraid to tell you how bad of a dancer you really are.
-Give up old habits: If you're a smoker or drinker, you should probably stop. You might gain weight once you stop, but it'll be beneficial in the end. Smokers tend to find themselves winded if they even do as little as climbing stairs sometimes, so they're definitely less inclined to do any other kinds of exercise. Alcohol is a depressant, so drinkers probably aren't going to be inclined to do much physical activity, either. Many people say that old habits die hard, so this might take time. But, think about how healthier you'd be as soon as you stop. Your body will start regenerating as soon as you decide that you don't want to destroy yourself anymore by smoking and drinking.
-Know your metabolism: Everybody has a different kind of metabolism. Either your metabolism is super fast and you barely gain a pound, no matter how much you eat, or your metabolism is super slow and it seems like you gain weight with every bite. However your metabolism may be, you need to know how it works so you can plan your next course of action. Women's metabolism change when they get older, so people need to know how much they need to walk, how much they need to eat in moderation and when they need to give up your bad habits. When they do; it becomes much easier for them to lose weight the effective way.
-Don't eat based on your feelings: On Oprah's show, Dr. Oz said that 95% of the Serotonin in people's bodies are in their stomachs and when the brain doesn't get enough Serotonin, you become depressed. So, it's probably best not to eat a lot when you're down or you're happy or when your mood fluctuates at all because it's not only dangerous but it's also very unpredictable.
In conclusion, anybody can lose weight if they really want to and if they're dedicated enough to do so. All it really takes is time and a lot of dedication. Like I had said before, it is hard to do, but it is also worthwhile and a lot of worthwhile things are hard to do. However, you'll be happier when you begin to see the results. So, good luck and have fun.
