How to Get Lots of Neighbors in CityVille for Facebook

CityVille is a fun online game that has quickly grown to be the most played game on Facebook. In CityVille, players work to plan, develop, and govern their very own virtual city. Like many games on social networking sites, CityVille requires players to elicit the help of their Facebook friends to meet requirements in the game. The more friends you have, the more your city will be able to develop and grow. Here are some easy ways to get lots of CityVille neighbors fast.

Your Friends

The first place to start is with your existing Facebook friends. With over 100 million monthly players, you are sure to have some CityVille players in your current friend list. You have probably already seen dozens of CityVille posts on your news feed. First, send neighbor requests to all of your friends who currently play the game.

Next, invite some of your non-playing friends to join the game. If you are lucky, you will get some to jump on board. I found that most of the time, my friends would just ignore my requests. If you are sending a bunch of requests with little or no response, try sending out personalized messages asking for help. You are likely to get a better response using this approach. Also, let them know that they don't need to play the game to help you. Explain to them that the only thing you need them to do is accept the requests that you send to them.

Facebook Groups

There are several large Facebook groups dedicated to the players of CityVille. By joining one of the groups, you will have the opportunity to mingle, learn from, and connect with hundreds of other players from around the world. Post on the groups main page that you are looking for friends. I have used this approach for several of my favorite social network games. I can easily bag 25-30 new friends within a couple hours.

Message boards

The internet is crawling with members of the CityVille nation. There are hundreds of articles, message boards, and websites dedicated to the game. If the site has an open forum, simply post a link to your Facebook page and let everyone know that you are in need of additional neighbors.

Tip for Adding Non-Friends - The most annoying thing about adding a bunch of random people to your Facebook is that your real friends can get lost in the mob. Create a separate group for your CityVille friends to keep them separate from your real friends and family.
