In ancient mythology one of my favorite love charms is the amber necklace worn by Freya. She wore this necklace to attract her future husband to her. The necklace is called the Brisingamen and it was created by four dwarves. It is not clear how Freya came into possession of it. It was her favorite piece of jewelry and she treasured it.
Materials used to make love charms are often pieces of jewelry such as rings, necklaces and bracelets that are adorned with gems or other little charms like hearts or alternate symbols of love. Rubies, amber and other reddish gemstones are a favorite because red symbolize love, lust and romance. It is the most physical of all the colors used in magick so its perfect for this type of charm.
To make your own love charm you need to either buy the jewelry or object you want to use or make it yourself. Its best to use the colors that remind you of love and romance. The next step would be to consecrate the jewelry and then charge it. Spend extra time when you charge it with your energy and repeat the process often if you wear it regularly.
While charging the charm focus on exactly what you want however this can be tricky. If you want a new lover then think of your new lover as if they were already there. Don't think about what you wish you had right now, think about what you want as if its already happening and then put that image into the object. This is how the charm will know what to do. If you think "I wish I had a boyfriend" then your charm will be used for exactly that, the constant wishing for something. If you show the charm what you want to happen then it will make that thought manifest. Be careful not to focus your energy on a specific person. That would be a type of black magick and will not work the way you want it to.
Always store your jewelry or object in a dark place preferably a black pouch. Don't let others touch it because this is a magickal item. It only should be touched by you and never anyone else.

Post a CommentAnother great article! The whole point of magick is to control your environment. I find this article very affirming. Thanks!
I've actually been working on one :)
Excellent stuff... perhaps you could do an article on the consequences of casting a love spell or wearing a love charm? Most people jump into things but don't realize there are side effects to everything you do.
