How to Be a Lover: Not a Hater: Thinking with an Open Mind

Denise
There is so much intolerance, hatred, discrimination, prejudice and loathing for so many things in life. It should be a pretty miserable life to have such strong dislike to things and people. It is incomprehensible if one declares to hate something they never tried. Perhaps, you have tried a recipe made in a certain way that made you sick. It is alright to dislike something that hurt you, but there is more to it. There could be a possibility that the recipe was made with too much grease, salt, sugar or some exotic spice you never heard of.

However, I bet there is another version of the recipe that is made with complete perfection. These things happen everyday. This is possibly the reason behind so many versions of one recipe. Everyone has a specific preference that will agree or disagree with other people. Some of us want more greasy foods, and others want more spicy hot foods. A growing number of people want to change their diets to low fat high volume foods, others want a total meatless diet of soy. The key to being a lover and not a hater is to give somethings a chance.

First you should read about it, and ask questions to see if it will suit you. It won't be hard to figure some things out. Once you try something, it may become your all time favorite. There are other subjects people want to hate such as colors, people, places, music and more. As for colors, everyone has their preference to what look good on them. However, you should consider the different shades of each color. For instance, I never liked the color green, and especially detested pale green. However, when it came to the darker forest green it pleases me more. Therefore, I can now admit to liking at least one shade of green. There are some people who stated detesting country music. Now, I am not a number one country music fan, but there are some good ones. If you can't stand the twang in the voice, you can try to listen to singers like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Leanne Rimes, Patsy Cline and others like them. You can try to find something you like about many things. It should not be hard to make you a lover instead of a hater. Give people and things a chance before pushing them away.

When it comes to people it isn't as hard as one may think. Granted, there are people with complex personalities traits that work and blow at the same time. However, there are pleasant personalities, and people with many good qualities. Though there are a certain number of a people who are the cause of stereotypes don't depend on it. In truth, all Christians, Black , White , Middle Eastern , Latins, Islanders, West Indians, Europeans, Blue Collars, White Collars, beautiful, fat, healthy, disabled, ill, short, tall, rich, poor, Native Americans, Indigenous, Asians, Artists, Musicians, Dancers, Writers, Game Designers, Chefs, Filmmakers, Vegans and Vegetarians shouldnot be considered equal. None of us act exactly like everyone else. In addition, we should not be labeled as being a certain way when it is a terrible untruth. For example, I have come up with a code to label people as I know them. I notice that there are people who act natural and those who are superficial in everything they do.

Natural people of all colors, class, races and cultures are the most beautiful people. These beautiful people make you feel comfortable in their presence, and there is no negative airs. It is impossible to even notice social class, color, race or culture in their presence other than a fine decoration. On the other hand, the superficial people make you feel strange or inferior. Moreover, they make you memorize their expressions, frozen smiles, frowns and all that makes them ugly. The superficial people can teach one how to judge as they judge you. You can see all of their faults, and be amazed at their audacity to have such an ego. They are preposterous and impudent forwards with the conceit higher than Mount Olympus. How can one learn to love them? The best way is to understand they are taught to feel that way, and feel sorry for them. You can respect them, never hurt them, and treat them the way you want to be treated. There was a music professor who had an air about him as if he worked for the royal court. I would always talk to him as a regular human being. To my surprise, one day he responded as one. He is very talented , and could easily work for the royal court one day. Learn to find the positive in things, and not always the negative.
