Yes, i am talking about the chia seeds, the same seeds that grow on the "chia pet". The chia seeds come from the ancient Aztecs of Mexico who used it for there main food crop. Now we have the luxury of buying the seeds in the health food store, they are very inexpensive.

How to use the seeds:
You want to eat about 1 tbsp. a day, you can sprinkle it on salads, cereal, soup, oatmeal, pretty much on any food you eat. It can be put in 8oz. water about 2 tsp. with some lemon and sugar to taste, it will get gel like and just drink. The seed is full of vitamins and minerals. This little seed has more fiber than bran cereal it is rich in antioxidants more then even fresh blueberries. It is rich in omega 3 fatty acids more than a piece of salmon, which is good for your heart. The seeds also reduces cravings and gives you lots of energy. The way it works to lower blood sugar, when it comes in contact with the liquids in your body, it forms a gel that separates the good carbs from the bad, so the sugar will digest slower, it also helps with inflammation in the body.

My mom uses the Chia seeds herself to lower her blood sugar. Enjoy!
