How to Lower Your Car Insurance Deductible

Is Lowering Your Deductable Worth It?

There are a few ways to lower you car insurance deductible. One way is to basically buy a lower deductible. Most of the time when you lower your deductible your monthly costs sky rocket. Your deductible depends on a few things, your driving record(how much of a risk are you), how many collisions you've been in(whether they were your fault or not), and finally the price of your vehicle(the more expensive your car is the more money they might have to dish out). This also deals a lot with your overall policy, all these factors can either increase or decrease your overall insurance policy's rate. Depending on your current financial status should be the deciding factor in whether or not you should choose a high deductible or a low deductible. If you have a 1000 dollars hiding in your couch cushions I suggest you choose a high deductible, it will lower your monthly payment significantly. For those who can't find that penny they lost 3 weeks ago, well I suggest you choose a deductible around 500. I know what you're thinking why would I want to pay more monthly? Well is it better to pay 20 extra bucks a month or to have to dish out a thousand dollars for taping that brand new Mercedes in the parking lot when you're buying groceries. The last way to lower your deductible(without having to pay more monthly) is choose a insurance company that offers rebates for safe driving(some even say your first crash is free). Ultimately, the decision falls on you it deals with your life style (money available, driving record, price of your automobile). Remember sometimes cheap isn't always the best thing.
