Spend time with friends who calm you down.
Avoid friends who stress you out with their problems.
Talk about what's bothering you. It's better to get the weight of your problems out, you will feel better.
Get outside and take a walk. Exercise will lower your blood pressure and stress level.
Eat something healthy. Knowing that we are eating better always make us feel good.
Repeat a soothing phrase to help you focus your energies.
Take a warm bath.
Remind yourself that things could always be worse than they actually are.
Take time out for yourself, even if it's just a few minutes to recharge your mental energy. Read a few minutes or drink a warm beverage. Remember that caffeine can raise your stress level, so avoid it. Check your herbal teas for caffeine also.
Start a journal. If you don't have friends or family available to vent to, this can be the next best thing.
Skip watching the news. Seeing all the negative reports can add to your anxiety and stress.
Get organized. Rushing in the morning because you can't find something is no way to start the day.
Setting aside enough time to accomplish tasks you do everyday should be a priority. Such as eating; why have to rush through breakfast? You had to eat yesterday so it shouldn't come as a surprise that you will eat today too. Make time for it.
Pick out your clothes the night before so you won't be surprised to find that you ran out of underwear.
If you find you wake up in the middle of the night worrying about thing, keep a paper and pen by the bed to jot them down. You can worry about them later then.
Start your day on the right foot, and you have a better chance of ending it the same way.
