All you need to do is sign up for a blogger blog account. You will need to pick a name that describes your blog. What will you blog about? Do you enjoy gardening? Then you could try "Granny's Garden" for a blog name. Maybe you are going to review different diets. You could then name your blog, "All the Best Diets." Blogger will automatically check to see if that name has been taken or if it is available for you to use.
Once you get your blogger blog up and running and have a few blog entries then you can get Google AdSense. You will need to sign up with the AdSense program before you put it onto your blog. Once you are signed up with adsense then you go back to your blog and monetize it. You can choose to put ads on the sidebar or under the blog posts or both. Now that you have an adsense account you can also get your own ads and enter them as HTML if you want to place them in a certain spot.
Some adsense ads will pay more per click over others. Hot advertising key words can get you even more money. Right now reviews of electronics seem to be big. If you had a blog where you reviewed electronics like Blu-ray or flat screens and HDTV's those adsense ads would show up on your blog. If people are paying a higher price to advertise electronics then you might have found a nice niche. A niche blog that has targeted keywords can make those adsense pennies add up. There are places on the internet where you can find out how much people are paying for certain key words and then use that to build your blog.
If you would rather have a .com website instead of a blogger blog you can do that on your own. Or you can start your blog with google blogger and if it takes off and you think it would get more traffic if you had a dot com you can get that through them. For ten dollars you can switch your blog from a blogspot.com to just a dot com. They use GoDaddy to transfer domains and web host. The nice thing about that is you can transfer your domain to a dot com but you can still use bloggers tools to blog.
I have a few blogger blogs that I put up and tried to get some traffic to them by posting the URL address around the web. That is how I made $49.26 dollars with Google AdSense and that number grows every day.

Post a CommentI have a new blog and am considering this. Thanks for the scoop.
Thank you, I was curious about AdSense.
Interesting, I'll check into this! :)
I tried something similar and it didn't work for me. But I'm happy to hear that it worked for you!
Good information. I've heard mixed reviews from people about whether Adsense is actually worth it, so it's nice to get more input.
