Types of Money Opportunites that Work & Those that Don't

Two years ago, I found myself in a position where I was a disabled single mother. I also found out that I was not going to be able to get a regular full time job. Nevertheless, the bills were piling up. My child and I were not meeting our basic financial needs. Because, my child is my motivation to keep going no matter what the odds, I came out of my depression, and decided not to give up. I also decided to start working from home, earning money on-line. Many of you have reasons to want to earn extra money. Stay at home parents could definitely use the extra money. Students could stand to earn some extra money, as well. While the economy is rebuilding, it is no wonder why any one would not want to. No matter what your reasons for wanting to earn extra money, do not give not up. Regardless of what situation your are in, there is hope of making extra money on-line. Furthermore, you do not have to pay anything to do it.

It took me two years of determination trial, error, and research, and going through scams. Nevertheless, I finally found legitimate, free, and guaranteed ways to make money on-line. There are also companies and money opportunities/scams you should avoid, when looking for work from home information. I want to reveal what kinds of work from home scams I came across. Because my perseverance paid off, I was able to finally make an extra income on-line. I found money opportunities on-line which don't make me rich, but help me pay my bills. Working from home on-line, provides me with many benefits. On the other hand, in order to make free money on-line (or accomplish any goal in life), you must be able to invest some time. I will show how I became successful at making extra money on-line, and recommend the steps and tools I took to do so. First, let me share with you briefly, my history and experiences with work from home money opportunities.

I first started my quest to earning money on-line, was by researching multi level marketing(mlm)schemes. This is a marketing structure where members are paid from sales generated by their referrals. They also get paid for the activity of their referrals (Wikkipedia, 2009). The draw back to mlm schemes is that you have to pay money, in order to earn money. Usually, mlm schemes requires members to purchase their products and services, before they see any payments. Fortunately, I did not loose any money, as many who have became a mlm associates. You may have notice messages/advertisements that claim to "add free members to your down line", or will make you be able to "fire your boss". This is the kind of links that I followed, to have my first experience with an mlm.

The program required that I pay a start up fee of $40 (members usually have to pay), before becoming a member. It was good thing that my sponsor paid my fees for the start up. The company did guaranteed a a $30 "money back policy", for all paying members. After signing up, new members are given a sales packet, and membership catalog. All members receive the company's products/services at wholesale discount. This is also true for their referrals. According to my sponsor, If I got new members to purchase the products/services I would get a commission. I would also get paid commission from any activity of my referrals. Moreover, I will get paid for selling the companies wholesale products/services at retail price. This is the way most mlm schemes work. This kind of program did not work for me. First, I did not like the fact membership required an upfront payment.(Even if i did not have to pay it myself). It is true that some mlm programs provide an up front payment waiver, or someone in your up line (or sponsor) will pay for you. On the other hand, money is wasted if you can not make a sale. Although, members do get to purchase the company's product/service at whole sale price, this was no benefit to me. I could not even afford to keep my membership open by paying the monthly fees, or purchasing the required limit of products/services each month. I needed to earn money, not spend it. Consequently, I contacted my sponsor, and told her that I was opting out. I am not saying that it is impossible to make money from mlm schemes. On the other hand, be warned. You have to be willing to take an upfront financial risk.

I needed to find another way to earn money on-line. So, I regrouped and continued my search, until I found free affiliate programs. Affiliate programs share things in common with mlm schemes. Affiliate members get paid for their activities, and the activities of their down-line (people who members have referred). Affiliate programs are different to mlm schemes, in that there is no payment required for you to join, or get paid. Payment is usually based upon completion and performance. For example, there are affiliate programs that pay you advertise a particular product/company. The company will pay you each time anyone clicks on your referral link. You can also get paid: a percentage of purchases made for the companies product/services, your referrals and their activity, or anytime someone pays to upgrade their membership (it is not required for members to do so in order to get paid. Upgrading membership only provides better services and increases earning potential.

Some affiliate programs will pay you to run your own on-line store, and sell products/services (like, Baby Phat, Sean Jean, cell phone service, and more). You also get paid from the sales of your referrals. Once again, affiliate programs are a free and real ways to make money on-line. The negative side to affiliate programs, like the ones previously mentioned, is that you must promote your site a great deal to earn money from referrals. Furthermore, you must get your down-line of referrals to remain active, in order for you to get paid. Affiliate programs have not worked for me, because I did not have time to depend on getting paid a little bit of money for a lot of referrals. Unless the affiliate program pays per click to your referral banner link, it may take some elbow grease to reach payout. It is not impossible. Many have been successful at earning extra money on-line with affiliate programs. I, however, was running out of time. My child and I could no wait forever to reach pay out.

I went through my share of scams. You will definitely run in to them yourself, if you are searching ways to make extra money on-line. There are some programs that don not pay what the company says it will. I ran into one of these program. From my experience, before you sign up with any money making program on-line, check their "faqs/help" section, and their contact link. There should be a place to contact the company via phone, address, or email. If your questions are not answered from the faqs section, or reviewing the site, you should be able to get them answered by a live support team (in a reasonable amount of time). If not, this is one of the first signs that the company is a scam. Another sign of a scam company i found, is when the company makes unrealistic promises of being able to create a never ending stream of wealth (or unlimited income) overnight. That much money does not come about to anyone overnight, not with out first selling your soul. Try also to avoid, chain letters, gifting programs, or investment companies. Chain letters (or gifting programs) could get you in to trouble with the law, and investment companies come with the risk of financial loss.

Finally, I decided to try out "get paid to" (gpt) programs. I am glad I did, because gpt programs has been making possible for me to free, legitimate, and guaranteed ways to earn money on-line. I still can not afford a fancy mansion in Miami, or a watch, but I can catch up on my bills. I have extra money to do more things with my child, go shopping, get extra groceries, and have some fun. No investment has been made to date, since I have been getting paid by gpt programs (1 year now), and I am still supplementing my income for free, every month.

GPT programs are the newest and easiest way to make free extra money on-line. GPTs are not mlm schemes because they are free to join, and get paid. There is no need to purchase products and services. There is no upfront investment. It is different to most affiliate programs because payment is not based upon referrals, or the performance of your referrals. GPT programs are what is (and has been working for me). I have gotten paid by companies, to sign up for free, earn money, gift, prizes, products and merchandise. These companies have paid me to: read email, surf, view ads, sign up for free offers, take surveys, promote sites, post, write reviews, upload media, listen to music, watch tv/movies/video, run a profile page like myspace/facebook, and give out a free cell phone number. Of course, I had my doubts at first. Especially since my previous experiences with trying to earn money on-line, proved less than profitable results. Regardless, it was free for me to try gpt programs. In my view, there was no reason not to try it out. I did not think it was possible, but I frequently get paid to do things that I already do on-line. The companies actually do pay when they say the are going to.

There is a word of caution. Do not get swept away in the sea of gpt programs. What I mean is that, there are some programs that will pay you per performance/ task completed, but the payment for each assignment is low. Moreover, the minimum in your account before payout is high. For instance, when you search gpt programs, you will find a great deal of them that pay 1/4 cent per completed task (1/10 per your referrals/their activity)with a $2 pay out). You also get points that you can use to redeem and advertise your site(s). This is the only benefit I see to working with those gpt programs paying this way. It could take forever to reach pay out, with this kind of compensation plan. Be sure to avoid gpt programs that claim to pay high per assignment completion, or have hefty sign on bonuses. There is one company that I tried to work with that offers it's members $10 per each assignment completed, $5 per referral, $1 per referral activity, with a $250 sign on bonus. It is free to sign up and earn. You must pay to upgrade your membership, for better services and benefits. Pay out is $1000. Does it seem easy to reach payout? It did to me, as well. The company had over 64,000 members that sign up and have not been paid. Some have been of this company for over a year. There is no way to contact anyone in companies like this. Thus, do not hope to hear any information about your pay out, or the where-abouts of the money spent on your membership upgrade. I had enough sense not to do that, at least not until I got my first payment (which I never did). I want to share one last thought I have on this note. I have come to realize that companies offering $20 high pay out per assignments, could never afford to pay all it's members that much money>This is why I sign up with programs that have low to no minimum, automatic, daily, or upon request pay out.

I also do not deal with programs, where payment is based primarily on referrals, or their activity. The gpt programs that have paid me, compensates it's members for their activity, or per assignment they complete (as well as the for referrals and their activity). I don't have to wait to get paid, nor is it impossible to reach pay out. In fact, three programs I belong to paid me within 24 hours after I sign up, via my pay pal account. I get paid every time I complete a task, and hit the submit button (usually 15 minutes to 24 hours). I recommend gpt programs like this, if you want to make some quick, easy, free, legitimate, and guaranteed extra money on-line. They worked for me.

Using search engines for find home based job opportunities, is another option to make money online. This is not an easy task, and the search results yield scant information. Your best bet to finding a home based job, is to do a search like, "work from home freelance jobs", or "home based job opportunities". Searching for freelance home based job opportunities, did not prove to be a waist for me. I did get a freelance on-line work from home assignment. I was hired as a part time customer service agent, for a virtual call center. The job paid per hour. Most freelance work from home jobs pay per hour, or per assignment completed. The negative aspects of trying to find a work from home job is that, many of these opportunities posted require years of experience, or a degree in a technical field, like customer service, web designer, psychologist, or technical support specialist. I had previous years work experience in customer service, and training/job experience in IT. This is one of the reasons why I was able to get this assignment. You will most likely have to submit a resume. There is also another waiting period, so that you can be contacted for an interview.

I definitely suggest that you search through freelance work from home data bases. If there are no fees to: access the information, work,or get paid freelance work is a great way to make money extra money on and offline. If you have qualifications for a particular home base job, and willing to submit a resume, it can not hurt to apply. While you are waiting to here a response from your resume, be sure to sign up for free "get paid to" programs. That way you can earn extra money to hold you over until next month.

You can work at your own pace, and set your own schedule. I am not stuck in a day to day rut, or going to a job that I hate.
