Some kids just love the idea of having a checklist. This may not e the case with all kids, but for my kids this seems to work best. The problem that I have constantly come across is that the paper get lost, and ends up floating around the room. The end result is a list that is lost, or destroyed. Even if you pin it up on a bulletin board, this may not seem to work. Having a personalized magnet however may be the perfect solution.
To get started on making your magnetic chore chart, you will first need to create the chart itself. I would highly recommend making your own chore chart instead of printing one, since you are the only one who can make it fit your families needs. Try to make your chore chart fit onto one half page. Play around with a few ideas in whatever program that you have until you find the right one. When you find the one you need print out at least one for each child. I would also recommend putting their name on it prior to printing, or just write it away.
Next you will need to gather your additional supplies together. The list below is everything that you need in additional to the printable chore chart. Below is a list of items you may need to head out to the store to pick up.
Once you have all of the items gathered together including your chore chart's that you should have printed out, you are ready to start putting it all together. Start by cutting out your chore charts. Then take the self laminating sheets and follow the directions to secure it to your chore chart. If they each take up about half of the paper you should get two per piece of paper printed. If you purchased magnet strips that are the size of paper you will need to also cut these in half to match the size of your chore chart.
Once you have cut the magnet strips out to match the chart, than you can use the glue gun to secure the magnet to the back of the chart. If should easily attach to the back of the laminated sheets after they have been secured. Allow the glue to dry, and then your magnet should be ready to hang on the fridge.
