How to Make a Magnetic Message Board

What you'll need to make a magnetic message board:
Sheet of galvanized steel
Wood picture frame, at least 9x11 in size, with or without glass
Acrylic paint
Spray primer
Soap
Magnets
Tarp, old bedsheets, or newspapers
Step 1: Prepare picture frame:
If desired, paint the wood frame in your desired color choice. When dry, remove the glass from the frame but do not remove the backing.
Step 2: Purchase sheet metal:
Take the frame along with you to a home improvement store. Have a piece of sheet metal cut to fit the inside of the frame.
Step 3: Prepare sheet metal:
Clean the sheet metal with soapy water and let dry. If you want to paint the sheet metal, spray with spray primer. When dry, coat with acrylic spray paint.
Step 4: Place sheet metal inside frame:
Place the frame face-down and turn the prongs to remove the backing (just as if you were placing a photo into the frame).Remove the backing and set the sheet metal piece inside the frame. Place the backing back in the frame and secure the prongs.
Step 5: Hang your new magnetic message board:
Your magnetic message board is ready for use!
Other ideas:
If you really want to get creative, decorate the frame with ribbon, beads, sequins, and other doodads prior to placing the sheet metal inside. Add more crafty flair by using mod podge to attach decorative scrapbook paper around the frame. Remember to seal with decoupage glaze.
