How The Mainstream Media is Complicit in Promoting the Gay Agenda

The True Definition of Homophobia

garyganu
The use of the word homophobia is an excellent example of how the media's outlook is very skewed toward the gay activist agenda.

The term homophobia actually means an uncontrollable fear of homosexuals. Homophobia is an actual mental disorder.

Gay activists have successfully stigmatized people who are opposed to gay marriage as people suffering from a mental disorder(homophobia) and/or bigotry. Due to the overuse of this word in the Mainstream media, the word homophobia has actually taken on a new meaning. Homophobia is now widely used by the mainstream media and proponents of gay marriage, to mean "bigotry against homosexuals".

Over 50% of America's population is opposed to legalizing gay marriage. Does that mean that a majority of Americans suffer from a mental disorder and/or bigotry? I think not, however, the continued use of the words "homophobia", "haters" and "bigots" to describe people opposed to gay marriage, suggests exactly that.

IMHO, it is just as wrong to wrongfully accuse someone of racism, bigotry and hatred as it is to actually practice those abhorrent behaviors. This is true because these false accusations destroys peoples credibility and even causes them to suffer from the loss of business or career opportunities, loss of jobs and in extreme cases, conviction of hate crimes.

However, the mainstream media and gay activists have no problem with wrongfully accusing over half of America's population of being bigoted and hateful people and insinuating that these feelings stem from a mental disorder. Although it may be true that a small minority of Americans are guilty of bigotry and hate toward a plethora of "groups", it is an outright lie to insinuate that half of all Americans are "homophobic" in any sense of the word.

Gay activists in concert with the mainstream media have successfully demonized opponents of gay marriage to the point that they fear to speak their position publicly lest they be publicly demonized as a hater and a bigot. Carry Prejean is a prime example of this. Do you think that any future Miss America contestants will have the courage to speak their true feelings, or will they be silenced due to the demonetization by activists in co-operation with the mainstream media?

Calling someone who is opposed to gay marriage a homo-phobe is worse than calling a person with downs syndrome a "retard". Why is the former acceptable and the later not acceptable by the mainstream media?

Homosexuality is a disorder but we gave it an euphimism; alternative life style. It amazes me how some people believe that because they are attracted to the same sex then it must be normal. Because what other explanation can there be? Acting like a woman doesn't make you one, likewise behaving like a man doesn't either. Just because something acts like a marriage doesn't make it one. Marriage is between a man and a woman. They idea of two people of the same sex calling themselves a marriage is an oxymoron, like married bachelor. In the beginning God made them male and female. The man shall leave his father and mother and the two shall become one flesh. Same sex cannot become one flesh neither can they procreate. Nature itself teaches us it is not normal. These people would literally become extinct. Cociety can only survive when there is traditional marriage resulting in the making of life.

Thanks for the article Gayganu, its a refreshing surprise to read it on Yahoo because Yahoo News is a flagrant promoter of the gay agenda.

I really liked your article and agree that most gays in the media are persecuting innocent people because of their hatred towards heterosexuals. If anything, the homosexual community is suffering from heterophobia. Anyway, looks like the homo-repressors are here to prevent an expression of opinion and make random, outlandish comments to get people upset. They attack people, get them angry, and then claim that the person that they pissed off is promoting hatred. No, I think it's the people that set out to enrage people and flagrantly lie, and praise themselves when again they hurt innocent people, that are hateful and the true bigots. And the media goes along with it.

your argument and the crux of this article seems to lie on the fallacy of Argumentum ad populum, or the appeal to the majority. It cant be wrong if everyone else is doing it, can it?

It is a fact; gay people are denied basic rights that straight people enjoy, and are seeking equality through nonviolent means. Also the compromise of "domestic partnerships" or marriage without the word, rings slightly of separate but equal. in these two ways (and i'm sure a whole lot more) the civil rights struggles of gays and blacks may be compared.

And as a gay black man I can assure you that I am neither insulted by the comparison, nor do I feel my sexual orientation is not as innate a characteristic as my blackness.

It is insulting to blacks to trivialize the civil rights movement by comparing it to the push for gay marriage. Most blacks oppose gay marriage. 70% of blacks in CA voted against Prop 8. Also, homosexuality is a behavior, not an innate characteristic. Finally, in today's society, homosexuals are not discriminated against. For the most part, gays are celebrated and embraced by today's popular culture, the media, the arts and school and universities.

Yeah, a majority of American's couldn't possibly be homophobic, just like when American's weren't really racist when they opposed interracial marriage as a majority.
