Whether you're having an I.D photo taken or going to a fancy event, every body wants to look good in photos. Although no-one looks good in every photo! This article will give you an idea on what makeup you should be using in photos. Wearing the wrong makeup, the camera's flash can make you look washed out and pale. using the right makeup, you'll look natural, defined and healthy. Here's how to look natural and healthy by picking the right makeup in a any photo.

Skin:

  • Avoid any foundation with an SPF factor/sunscreen. The titanium dioxide can make your face look chalky and pale and the camera's flash will reflect off your face.
  • Keep your face matte because the flash usually makes your face look oily. Powder foundations work well, or if you're wearing a liquid, blot your skin or finish with a translucent powder.
  • Using blush or bronzer, gently color in the apples of your checks. Any kind will work, but a creme blush looks the most natural. This will stop you from looking too pale and light up your face.

Eyes:

  • Use mascara to define your eyes. If you have fair lashes go for a brown mascara. The same goes for eye liner.
  • Keep everything very natural (unless going to an event). Don't use any overly bright or shimmery eye shadows, instead stay with neutral browns, beiges and taupes. If you're using a cream eyeshadow, apply a primer so that it doesn't crease.
  • Make your eyes look brighter and whiter by using a tiny dab or light beige or white eyeshadow in the corners of your eyes. This always looks great in photos.
  • Liquid eyeliner is great for define your eyes and making them look larger, but make sure the line is thin.

Lips:

  • Unless it's your everyday look or you're going to a formal event, don't wear a bright lipstick.
  • If you're wearing lip gloss, keep it a sheer color and make sure it isn't too shiny. Again, the flash will reflect of it and not you. Also, you never know which moment your lipgloss will choose to run!
  • The best thing to wear on your lips is a lip balm. Your lips will be shiny but not overly so and your lips will look softer.
These are some great tips if you're taking a driver's license photo, or a passport photo because you're usually not allowed to wear andything overly flashy - or even allowed to smile! For clothes, wear something simple in neutral colors that suit you. Don't wear anything shoelace strap, turtle neck or tight. With these tips, not even the worst photographer could make you look bad!
