The odds of anyone contracting this affliction ranks among the list of things that we have little control over. As with most mechanical contraptions, the wear and tear of time, use and abuse will lead to detrimental changes of the bone and tissues that provide physical support to our bodies. The eventuality of pain, stiffness and limited physical mobility is almost certain.
So, what can be done? First, learn to work smart. Learn the correct posture for lifting, computing and other various work routines. Wear back braces and knee pads when warranted. Repetitive motions can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome so remember to take breaks and incorporate helpful tools and physical aids.
Secondly, do not avoid the ogre called exercise. Half an hour a day can keep the body from getting "rusty". On the other hand, do not over do the exercising. Try walking, cycling and a little weight lifting. Use activities that extend the range of motion of your body. Remember, in addition, try to maintain an ideal weight. More weight increases the physical burden on your body and heart.
Third, check with your medical professional about common infections that can be associated with arthritis. This would include deer ticks that cause Lyme disease which has known links to arthritis. Also, follow your doctor's instructions to completely heal from any physical injury lest you reinjure yourself.
Simple precautions may aid in dealing with the affliction of arthritis. It doesn't take an expert to recognize and apply these simple tips. The onset of arthritis is inevitable for the majority of Americans, but it is survivable and manageable.
