Joomla makes managing content very structured and organized. Sections in Joomla organize the categories; the categories contain many different types of content.
Sections >> Categories >> Content items
How to create Sections
Sections are the highest classification of content on Joomla. Here's how to create sections:
*First, you will need to go to the Content menu located near the top of the screen.
*On the Content menu, you will need to select the Section Manager option.
*After that, click the New icon located near the top-right of the screen.
*Once you click New, you will arrive at a form that you will need to fill out about the section. Fill in details such as title, description, and images.
*After you have finished, click Save in order to save the new section.
How to create Categories
Categories serve as folders within the many sections on your website. Creating a new category is very similar to creating a new section. Here's how:
* First, you go to the Content menu.
* On this menu, select the Category Manager option and click the New icon.
* On the category details form, you fill out information similar to the way you filled out information for sections. Make sure you select the parent section of the category, otherwise the category will not appear.
* Finally, click Save to save your information.
How to add Content
Content on Joomla are like articles and files that can be viewed by others. Here's how to add content:
* First, go to the Content menu and select All Content Items. All content and articles previously uploaded will be displayed or you can create new content.
*After that, select New and the parent sections and categories. Input information such as title, description of content, and any needed images.
*After you upload the desired content, click Save.
