How to Manage Working Full Time and Caring for Your Dog

Mrs. Renee

Being a dog owner for many years, I know how difficult it can be to make sure that all of your dogs needs are met on a daily basis. Caring for a dog is really like having a child in the home. It can be difficult to manage your daily schedule and still find the time to care for your dog. The best thing that you can do is make a checklist and hang it up on the fridge of your home. This way you can make sure that all of your dog's needs are met. Below are a few items you will want to put on the top of your list.

Several walks a day

No matter how small your dog may be several walks a day are a must. Usually you can start with an early morning walk, and then a walk in the evening after you return home from work. This may mean getting up a little bit earlier in the morning so that you can take your dog for a nice healthy walk.

Play time a must

Take some time to play with your dog each day. The best time is usually in the evening after you return home from work. A simple game of tug with a rope, or a game of fetch is all that your dog should need. The main idea is they you will be giving your dog a little bit of the attention that they

Their own space

While you are away at work, your dog should have their own comfortable space to rest. Outdoors is usually not the ideal place if you are gone for the bulk of the day. A comfortable place inside of your home, is usually a good option. If you are afraid of them causing damage to the inside of your home, you can fix up a comfortable spot inside of your garage or your basement. This may help your dog to cope with loneliness while you are away.

Food

You will also want to make sure that your dog has some fresh water left, and that you feed them before you leave for work. Some families choose to leave a small snack for your dog to munch on while they are waiting for you to return home. This will help to keep your dog occupied and out of trouble. Try purchasing spill proof bowls for their water and food.
