How to Maximize Online Writing Income

To maximize online writing income, you must be dedicated. It's a great job, but there are some pitfalls. Top earners all follow a similar plan, and I want to lay it out for you so you can follow it as well! Here's how to maximize online writing income.

Diversity. As a writer, you must be prepared to write all kinds of things. eHow is great for short articles and residual income, but you must follow a format. A site like Triond allows much more freedom, but their publishing system is sketchy. (I've never HEARD of some of these websites that they publish on!) Your best bet to maximize writing income is to diversify and write for as many sites as you can.

Repostings. Once you start writing for many sites, you'll find that some editors like your style better than others. Suite101 editors are much harder to get past than some of the other sites. But that's just their opinion. Keep all writing that you do, no matter how bad you think it is. If it is rejected or taken down from one site, put it up on another. Don't forget to ping the new article so you get search engines to the new page. To maximize online writing income, you can't get frustrated at the site editors. Just keep reposting until you find a match for your writing style.

Invest. Once you have decided on your top earning websites, invest more time and writing in them. But be leery: They could go out of business or change their pay structure. So be sure to have more than one. I say have three separate web blogs.

Landing page. Once you have set up a nice bed writing for other people's sites, it's time to set up your own. This is called a landing page, because you eventually want to drive all that traffic from those other sites to you. You will only have complete freedom to write whatever you want if you own the website and the server, but at least you won't have to put up with editors. If you don't want to own your own website, Blogger.com will give you a free one. But it comes at a cost -- they can block your material if they deem it inappropriate. Myself, I'm getting my own landing page, and eventually, I want to have my own server so I can have complete control. How do you make money there? Google has many programs. That's a whole nuther article.

AC's licentious, guilty pleasure. What can I say? I write about sex and money. You know, the important stuff. Giggle. (But I do it so well!) Fashion, too. LOL  View profile
