How to Do Maximum Raid Damage as a Warlock in World of Warcraft

Kevin Choy
In World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King, there have been many changes brought to the warlock that has increased their potential. In its new content, one of the most exciting things is the new raids which make this game more exciting. Now the stress with the end raiding is that you must be able to pull enough dps or damage per second in order contribute to the raid. In some cases, the leaders will kick you.

There are many ways to avoid this. First of all, you want to do as much heroics as possible. You want to have at least 1300-1400 spell power and have almost 290 hit rating. This should be the bare minimum requirement for you to enter into the normal raids. The spec you want to use is 3/13/55. This is the spec that will put out for you the most dps. Your rotation for this would be by applying curse of element and opening up with immolate. You should pop conflagrate and continue spamming incinerate when there's 4-5 seconds left on immolate. You want to hit chaos bolt and then conflagrate; repeat this process continuously until the boss is dead. Don't forget to use life tap when needed because you will run out of mana if you don't during these boss fights.

Another thing you want to stack up on when you start raiding is haste rating. Haste rating will boost your dps more than critical strike rating, so you should definitely stack up on this until you max out at 20%. Critical strike is also very nice to stack up on afterwards as it will boost your dps.

A very well geared warlock is guaranteed to pull at least 4k on most of the bosses which will secure their top spot on the damage meter compared to the other classes. You want to be able to pull at least 2,000 damage per second on the normal raid if not more. When you are decently geared, you want to be able to pull 3,000 to damage per second. When you are fully stacked, a geared warlock should easily be able to pull 4,000 damage per second or more. Most warlocks that are geared have the ability to pull a massive 5k dps, but not always. In a group of very well geared people, warlocks should be able to pull the most dps every single fight.
