On July 27, Scholastic, the publisher of the Harry Potter series, announced a sweepstakes for fans to have the chance to meet the creator of Hogwarts, J.K. Rowlings, on October 19th at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Scholastic is calling it the Open Book Tour Sweepstakes. They will select one thousand fans for an evening with J.K. Rowlings. J.K. Rowlings will read selections from her recent book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. She will also sign books and answer reader questions.How to Enter the J.K. After July 30, 2007, you can enter the J.K. Rowlings and the Open Book Tour Sweepstakes at www.scholastic.com/harrypotter/events/ . You then will have to print out and complete a form/ or by printing your name, home address, and phone number on a sheet of paper and mailing the entry to:
You can only enter one entry.If you enter more than one entry, you will be disqualified from the sweepstakes to meet with Harry Potter author J.K. Rowlings.
Entries Must Be Submitted by August 31, 2007.
Winners will be selected in a random drawing and notified by mid-September 2007.
What You Win
One thousand winners will receive a pair of tickets to an evening with J.K. Rowlings at Carnegie Hall in New York City on October 19, 2007. If you are under 18, you must bring your parent or legal guardian as your guest. If you are under seven, you will not be permitted to attend the Harry Potter event.

Harry Potter fans ages seven and older can enter to win the chance to meet J.K. Rowlings.
J.K. Rowlings Visits the United States
In additiion to the Carnegie Hall event, J.K. Rowlings will be meeting with school children (chosen by the host cities) in Los Angeles, New Orleans, and New York City. The Carnegie Hall event open only to those who win tickets will be the only opportunity to meet with Hogwarts creator during this trip for the public at large.
