You go grocery shopping and when you are in front of the cantaloupe stand, you smell it, tap it lightly and shake it lightly and then you proceed to buy it thinking that it is the best and the sweetest one there. And as you are driving or walking home you can already taste the sweet flavor of the melon in your mouth, but then something happens when you open it, it tastes bitter! Fortunately there is a way to bring the sweetness out of the fruit.
First step is to cut the melon in half, and take out all the seeds.
Next step is to get some salt and pour a pinch on each side of the fruit, like if you were seasoning it.
Leave standing for twenty minutes before serving. Interesting enough the salt actually brings out the sweetness of the fruit because it attracts the natural juices to the surface.
