How I Met Crystal Ray

Sharing the Colored Chalk

Dan Reveal
This is the happy story of how I met Crystal Ray.

It all began about two years ago when I was a newcomer to the formerly titled Associated Content. Because I was so new to online writing, I was looking around at different contributor pages to get some idea of how it all worked.

I don't exactly remember the circumstances now, but Crystal Ray was one of the first people I subscribed to.

Little did I realize at the time that my email inbox would be flooded with her articles. By this I mean that Crystal Ray is one of the most prolific writers imaginable!

It seemed that everyday I would get more and more notifications that she had published something. I couldn't keep from wondering, "Who is this person?"

Meanwhile, my own writing career limped on like some Beverly Hillbillies hound dog.

At this point, I have a confession to make.

Certainly, I was interested in sending a message to this mystery woman that I was admiring so much. But, I was just too darn shy to do it.

"She won't want to talk or write to me," I reasoned. "She's good at it."

Finally, I summoned my courage and sent her a message. She wrote back with an attitude of kindness that is matched only by her intelligence!

"Wow! She's so nice as well as smart!" This was my first thought as I met Crystal Ray.

It was like realizing that the greatest artist in the world is willing to share her colored chalk--to break it in two so we can draw together.

Since that time she has offered me great writing advice which I have appreciated greatly! If you visit her CP page you will find articles about SEO writing and many other different subjects!!

Whenever I've felt that I was being discouraged, Crystal would say, "You can do it!!"

Well, now I've told you the happy story of how I met Crystal Ray. You should too.

Thanks, Crystal!

I too continue to be amazed by Crystal Ray, so much so that I asked to interview her and was surprised (though I shouldn't have been) when she allowed me to write about her. She writes prolifically, she comments on articles, and she is always available to help fellow writers. Would love to meet her in person some day.

She's one of my favourite writers on here. I love how she writes what people want to know, not sensationalist stories or celebrity news. Her writing is a breath of fresh air.

Great lesson here, Dan. It is not enough that we open ourselves to trust others, and that we esteem the gifts of others as worthy of study; for here, you lead us to understand the value of a simple word of thanks. Great writing about a wonderful author.
