How Do the Miami Dolphins Give Back?

Viktorya Hale
Let's have a look into what the Dolphins are doing off the field. Yep, they sure have made a come back since last year. All we know is that they give back to their community in such a great way. Let us have a look at what they are up to over there in Miami.

The Miami Dolphins Foundation was founded back in 1995. Through this foundation, the Dolphins promise to better the youths of southern Florida. Most of the emphasis is geared towards education, health, social and community service needs. Some of the organizations that they support are the Miami-Dade public Libraries Summer Reading Program, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Coastal Conservation Association and Broward Partnership for the Homeless and the United Way.

There are certain events that the Dolphins have throughout the year. One of these events include the Miami Dolphins Fishing Tournament. This past summer there was $300,000 raised for the Miami Dolphins Foundation. The Junior Anglers Clinic is presented from the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County. The children are given fishing tips by the Miami Dolphins.

There is also a golf tournament that is held annually to help raise money for the Miami Dolphins Foundation. A lot of the players and coaches participate every year and they have raised about $1,350,000 to this date. Then there are also Dolphins Auctions. Funds are raised through Dolphins license plates. Through this they have raised about $50,000 for the Foundation.

Like many of our other football teams, the Fins also host a Summer Camp for the kiddos. Kids that are the ages between 6-14 can enjoy a week long of flag football. Many people even former players get invloved with this event. The primary goal is to train the kids to play football and give them life long skills that will help them throughout thier life. There are two camps during the month of June. The camp does cost money to join but there are many incentives that the kids can enjoy. Not to mention, knowledge that will benefit them for a lifetime. If this is something that you may interested in for your little one this summer, feel free to contact them at 954-452-7129.

If there is a special request for the Dolphins, you can contact them about 6 weeks before the event and they may be able to come out and join in with your organization's function. By visiting thier site, you can write them and let them know what you need them for and why.
