How to Make a Million Dollars Writing for Associated Content

How to Make a Million Dollars Writing for Associated Content

Titles

I have a writer's confession - you may not make a million dollars writing for Associated Content. Lesson one - Lure the reader in with a gripping title. Notice, the title can even be somewhat misleading. As long as it is being done to prove a point. Rules can be broken (like that fragment sentence I just wrote) if they are done for a reason. In the aforementioned fragment, I wanted the reader to get excited about being able to write a misleading title, just briefly, before saying there must be a good reason. I've babbled enough... maybe because I needed to reach some word count. Maybe not.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the ability to target your content - articles, titles, subtitles and descriptive overviews - to be highly ranked in search engine (Google, Yahoo, Bing) searches. So, if "free writing tips" are trending as being popular, then writing about free writing tips would be an example of utilizing Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Or course, if no one cared about making a million dollars writing for Associated Content, then using the title "How I Made a Million Dollars Writing for Associated Content" would not help.

Don't Go Overboard

Try not to be too ridiculous about the title; it has to actually make sense. With my title, I'm still attracting my target audience - writers interested in making money writing for Associated Content, whether that involves SEO, fancy titles or some other literary or marketing method.

A misspelled title will not attract a new reader. It may not lose a loyal follower, but you're still looking for those.

The key to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is to have, above all else, a title that includes key words or phrases that are pertinent to your article. A writer must understand that a title is a writers' billboard. Let's look at some examples:

Example Title #1 - Why You - As a Writer - Need a Stalker

"Writer" and "Stalker" appear to be relevant key words. More importantly, this title grabs me. Most importantly, it grabs you, the reader, my target audience, which, as I previously mentioned, is writers wanting to make money writing for Associated Content. This title tells you something you need and by telling you something you need, it tells you that you need to read this article... to find out why you need a stalker. It's something you must know, because it seems counter intuitive to many non-writers. But, you're a writer.

Example Title # 2 - What is Cornhole? And, How Does it Involve a Woody?Interested? The article is, quite literally, about the game cornhole. I wrote the article has a humorous informational piece on the quirky game. It is both an educational and funny article, as suggest by the title. The title is obviously a play on words, as is the entire article. Pardon the puns. The point is that the title conveys elements of the article contents without mentioning them directly. In this case, a title that plays on words indicates an article that plays on words. A humorous title indicates a humorous article. Also, notice how I'm targeting to the finely carved niche of cornhole.

You apparently know what you are doing! Kudos!! Thanks, too, for all of your support on AC. I don't do SEO like I should. I just write about things that inspire me or are important to me. I should take some lessons from you so I can actually make some money at it, huh? Namaste.
