Of all the tasks that are involved with throwing a party, the one that is the most fun is making the party favors. Sure you can have them custom made, but cleverly putting your own party favors together has that unique personal touch. If you are throwing a party for a friend who loves drinking Cosmopolitans, here's a how to guide for making mini party favors that look like those Cosmopolitan drinks made famous by Sex In The City.

How to Make Mini Cosmopolitan Drink Party Favors: The Wilton's Martini Glass Favor Kit

I discovered these at a nearby craft store and thought they were absolutely adorable. In addition to being cute, you get most of what you are going to need for your mini Cosmopolitan drink party favors in one kit.

3 ½ inch martini glasses

satin ribbons

white tulle circles

printable tags

Yield: 24 favors

This kit is perfect not just for convenience and price but a Cosmopolitan drink comes in a martini glass. So it's the proper 'glassware' for your favor. The kit is available online through the Wilton's website and at craft stores and some home goods stores. *hint: check circulars for coupons and sales to craft shops. I got my kit at AC Moore at 40%!

How to Make Mini Cosmopolitan Drink Party Favors: Fill the glass

Next you need to fill your glass with candies that make your mini Cosmopolitan drink party favors look authentic. Because a Cosmopolitan has cranberry juice, it has a dark pink color. You can use M&M's, Jordan Almonds, mints....just as long as they are a dark pink. If money is no object, you can also use Cosmopolitan flavored jelly beans. Place the candies in the tulle.

How to Make Mini Cosmopolitan Drink Party Favors: The lime garnish

The proper garnish for a Cosmopolitan drink is a lime wedge or curled lime rind. Take the printable tags from the kit and color them entirely with a lime green marker. Depending on how talented you are, you can write the guest of honor's name on the tag with calligraphy pens or just neatly write the names on the tags with a fine marker or pen.

The tags have small holes on the left sides so they can be attached to the ribbons. Take your ribbons, run them through the holes of the tags, and then tie up the tops of the candy filled tulles. Place each bundle in the martini glass. You can also color the white ribbons with a lime green marker if you like.
