How to Make Miniature Pinatas

If you do not want to have a large pinata during your party, consider making miniature pinatas for your party attendants. With just a few simple materials, some candy and/or small toys and a little bit of time, you can make miniature pinatas that will have your guests wowed.

In order to make a miniature pinata, you will need a clean toilet paper tube, colored tissue paper, , glue stick, ribbon or yarn and some type of pinata filler such as candy or small toys. First, cut a 6 inch strip of ribbon or yarn and drape over the end of the toilet paper tube. Cut a few small piecees of the colored tissue paper and apply glue on the back edges of the tissue paper with the glue stick. You will want to glue 4-5 sheets so that the end is sturdy. Make sure that the glue only gets on the edges so that you can glue the tissue paper down over the end of the toilet paper tube. This will keep the ribbon secured. After you have glued the tissue paper down, you can tie the ribbon to make a loop. This will be the bottom of the pinata and the loop will be used as the pull strings that will release the surprises. Next, it is time to fill the pinata. Insert candy and small toys into the toilet paper tube, filling approximately 3/4 of the way full. Do not add anything large, as it can get stuck in the tube. Once the toilet paper tube has been stuffed with candy and toys, you should place 4-5 pieces of colored tissue paper over the end and glue down securely with the glue stick. This will be the top of the pinata. Once both ends of the pinata have been covered, it is time to decorate the toilet paper tube. This can be done with paper, stickers, markers, crayons, paint or other tissue paper.

After the pinata has been decorated, give to the party guests in a treat bag. Attach a note for the guests that says to pull the ribbon to release the prizes within the pinata.

This is an adorable idea. I use to love making pinatas when I was younger. Miniature versions sound like a great idea!
