How to Make a Mobil

Crochet Pattern

Hoop Mobil

Materials:

3-4 oz Red Heart Kids yarn in beach

H crochet hook

One 6" wooden embroidery hoop

One 9" wooden embroidery hoop

One 12" wooden embroidery hoop

Needle to take yarn

Abbreviations Used In This Pattern:

Chain = Chain

St = Stitch

Sl St = Slip Stitch

Sc = Single Crochet

Ea = Each

Beg = Beginning
Rnd = Round

Small Hoop Covering:

RND 1: With yarn and H hook ch-8, sl st to form a ring, ch-1, sc in ea ch around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (8 stitches)

RND 2-80: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. End row 80 fasten off. Set aside.

Medium Hoop:

RND 1: With yarn and H hook ch-8, sl st to form a ring, ch-1, sc ea ch around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (8 sts)

RND 2-128: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. End row 128 fasten off. Set aside.

Large Hoop:

RND 1: With yarn and H hook ch-8, sl st to form a ring, ch-1, sc ea ch around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. (8 sts)

RND 2-168: Sc ea st around, sl st top beg sc, ch-1, turn. End row 168 fasten off. Set aside.

Finishing:

Remove the screw that holds the embroidery hoop closed. You will only be using the split ring. Remove the metal loops on each for the screw to thread into by either using a wire cutter or by bending it back and forth until it breaks off. Do this for all spit hoops.

Slide one end of the hoop into the correct sized crochet piece. With needle and matching yarn sew both ends closed. Do this for all hoops. You should have three varying sized crochet covered circles. Again with needle and matching yarn sew the circles together leaving about an inch of yarn between them. Sew a loop at the top and you're ready to hang your mobile.
