How Model Apartment Furniture Can Fool You
What Your Realtor Won't Tell You About Model Apartment Furnishings
One of the most important determinations that you should make when viewing a furnished model apartment is if the layout is convenient to yourself or your family. Many model apartments are furnished with particular items in a layout that may not be feasible or practical in terms for most normal people. The model apartment may have a flat screen television hung from a wall when the actual renters would have a television on a ground stand or ground furniture. This simple trick often fools many first time homebuyers into thinking that an apartment is roomier than it actually is. Another trick used by many of the decorators is putting things such as a televisions or chairs in positions that they cannot be viewed or utilized properly; an example of this is putting the back of a chair against a wall.
Another trick that many decorators of model apartments use to fool prospective homebuyers is to put only enough furniture for one or two people in the apartment. An example is to have a bedroom with only a single nightstand or only one dresser and a single lamp. The room would seem appealing to a couple when viewing the room but them on purchasing the apartment and moving in, there would not be any lighting on one side of the bed nor any room for a nightstand, which would result in disappointment.
The difference in size between a queen sized bed and a king sized one may not seem like much, but when the bed is actually put in place, it can make a world of difference in terms of space. Always ensure that the size of the bed on display in the model apartment is the size of the bed that you would want to place in the bedroom, this helps you to get an accurate portrayal of the space that you would have to utilize.
Buying or renting a new apartment is a tricky proposition, especially for first time homebuyers but the model apartment furnishings can fool you immensely and make the home look bigger than it really is. Ensure that you never make the mistake of buy an apartment that is too small for yourself and your family.
