Every woman knows that the winter months bring dry chapped skin along with it. With prices on everything getting higher, it seems like any type of lotion you buy is more expensive. If it is not that expensive yet you can count on it getting there. This is especially true if you want to use products that use all natural ingredients. If you are looking to be more frugal this winter, and still want to keep your skin looking its best there are several things that you can do to accomplish this.
Look for sales
Some of the natural things that are good for your skin include all natural yogurts, avocados and honey. The best time to buy these items is when they are on sale. During the winter months you will probably not find big deals on avocados, but you may be able to get some deals on yogurt. Just look for sales, and look for coupons. Then you will be able to get the ingredients you need for a cheaper price.
Buy bulk
Stores like Costco, and Sam's Club offer you discounts for purchasing items in bulk. The key is proper storage. If you usually make your own skin moisturizer at home, than figure out how best to store it. In most cases using a plastic or glass storage container is a great way to preserve your homemade skin cream. Just make sure that you put the date on it before storing it away.
Use on a regular basis
During the winter season it can be very difficult to keep track of your personal skin care routine. Especially if you have children to care for. If you purchase items to make your own homemade skin cream, make sure that you use it up. Allowing your skin cream items to sit and not use them is just a waste.
Avoid makeup
I know that this is one option that many women will not agree with, but it is a great way to ensure that your skin stays moist. Some makeups may claim to add moisture to your skin, but if they are not made out of all natural products this may not be the case. Going make up free during the winter months and sticking with your skin care routine can also help your skin. It will also lower the amount of money you spend on makeup. If you are going to wear makeup, than look for sales, on all natural makeup products.
