How to Make Money on Associated Content

Walter Kovacs
Associated Content, the website that you are reading this article on right now, is a great place to work on writing, get a byline, and also make a good amount of money. I've been a member of Associated Content for a few months, and I have already made over eighty dollars! If you wonder how to make money on Associated Content, keep on reading.

This first and most important thing you have to do to make money on Associated Content is to publish all of your content for Upfront Payment. This means that you will receive a payment when your article is accepted, and you will also receive Performance Payments. The amount you will get from Upfront Payment will vary depending on how many articles you publish. When you just get started on Associated Content, you will be paid a dollar (or very close to a dollar) for each piece of content you publish. Once you've published twenty five or thirty pieces of content, you will make about two dollars as an upfront payment. The upfront payments max out at two dollars. Though I have published more than fifty pieces of content, I only make two dollars upfront for each article.

The second thing you need to make sure to do is not waste your own time. Associated Content will only take articles of four hundred words or more. You won't be able to submit anything that is less than four hundred words long. As a suggestion, there are some simple things you can do to add to the amount of words you have in your article. The first is to type out all numbers. The number four hundred eighty seven is four words long, whereas the number 487 is only one word. The second thing is to write out dollar amounts. For example, two dollars is two words. If you type $2, that only counts as one word.

The third thing you need to know is an explanation of Performance Payments. Originally, you start with a 1.50 PPM, which means you get a dollar fifty cents for every thousand views. This, if you have good content, will make up the majority of your paycheck. As you get more page views, you will level up. As you level up, your PPM goes up, and it maxes out at 2.00 once you reach level ten. On the second Wednesday of every month, the Performance Payments are calculated and distributed. You will only receive Performance Payments if you are eligible. To be eligible, you have to have made a dollar fifty in Performance Payments during the previous month.

The fourth thing is important. Associated Content is cracking down. They are accepting less and less content for Upfront Payment. This is a problem for some, but not a major one. The fourth tip is, if Associated Content rejects your content for Upfront Payment, the website will probably allow you to publish it for Performance Payments only. This means you still earn points for views, but you don't get that original one to two dollar payment.

So that's it! You are now ready to sign up and start writing! There is only one more thing you need to know: you will need a PayPal to use this website. This is easy to make, just go to PayPal.com and create an account. Then go to your account settings on Associated Content and, where indicated, type in the email that is associated (yeah, very punny) with your PayPal account. Easy enough!

So go ahead! Do it! Make Money! Oh, and don't get more famous than me (just kidding)!
