If you live in a town that has a college, then you can be sure that there are apartment complexes for students. And when the school year ends, many students graduate and vacate their apartments to go for a well deserved vacation. The result is that these apartments are usually left messy and unclean, and the landlord usually can't clean up everything by himself. This is where you come in and make a business out of it.

You will need the right equipments for this job. You will need to visit the local super market and stock up on basic cleaning liquids, scrub rags, a broom, vacuum cleaner, a strong bucket and so on. This is not as easy as it sounds. You will need to practice and find out how to clean up an apartment in the quickest way. Your initial work will give you the required practice.

You should look in your area for any student apartment complexes. Go to the landlord and tell him about your services. It is preferable to find someone who will need your services regularly.

There are added perks to this business too. The apartments could be left with anything. Before starting your services talk to your landlord about what to do with the abandoned items of the students. Some of the landlords will ask you to dump anything you find, because students rarely come back for their possessions. Maybe you'll find an abandoned acoustic guitar with broken strings! All you would have to do then would be to buy new strings (which are very cheap) and sell it. That's just one example!

You may charge around $50 for your services as a flat fee. But of course, if you have to do a lot of work, you should talk with the landlord and settle for a higher price. In the future, you may want focus on a particular area of repairing services. If you are adept at a repairing service like carpet cleaning or wall repairing, then you may charge extra for offering these services. If your specialization proves to be useful in your area, then you can even totally focus on that service.

For this business, you will need a license, which you can easily obtain, and some insurance. Other than that, the costs of starting are very low. If you want, you can even start with any cleaning supplies from your house.

Make sure you take good care of your body. This job will demand quite a workout. In the beginning, this job will be available near semester breaks, but if you are efficient, you might find yourself regular jobs from the landlords. So go ahead and start cleaning. If you want, you can even team up with a friend or two to increase the amount of work you can take. This will certainly increase your overall profits.
