How to Make Money on eBay: Above and Beyond Selling

Micky
If you haven't figured it out by my other submitted content, I'm an eBay freak. I started by buying, then quickly ventured to selling. Now, I've taken it up a notch and am making money off my selling ventures that has nothing at all to do with selling! I really shouldn't share these tips because it's taken years to put all the pieces together. I trust you'll reward my sharing this with you by telling everyone you know to read this article!

My eBay starts from the beginning--buying inventory. Yes, I make a profit before I even take possession of my inventory, let alone sell it. First, you have to have a PayPal debit card. My PayPal debit card pays me 1.5% cash back on all signature-based purchases. So, I have a 1.5% profit margin before I even take possession of my inventory.

I also buy a lot of my inventory on eBay, but PayPal is smart enough to not allow you to add your PayPal debit card as a funding source for PayPal payments. So, if the seller from whom I purchase does not have a merchant account, I need another way to make money from my purchase. This is where a second credit card comes in handy. The card I have gives me one reward dollar for every dollar I spend. I can usually buy a $100 gift card to many different retailers for 10,000 points. These come in handy around Christmastime. So, I am now getting $100 for $10,000 spent, which is a 1% profit margin before I even receive my inventory. This may be less than the 1.5% from my PayPal debit card, but there's more!

You absolutely must sign up for BigCrumbs or a similar affiliate program. You can earn 36% of the sellers fees for everything you buy. The eBay Final Value Fee is as high as 12%, so I earn up to 6% on my inventory purchased on Ebay before I even receive it, plus the 1% I earn by putting it on my credit card!

So, your profit will vary depending on how much inventory you purchase on inventory and your own credit card rewards program, but I make about 4% profit on my inventory purchases before I even begin to sell them! This will either pad your margins, or allow you to offer your product at a price lower than your competition, thus giving you a competitive advantage.

I may submit a separate article on BigCrumbs, but it deserves a mention. This is a very powerful program that I am just getting into. I have a few tricks that are proving very effective in generating referrals and couple others I am developing that look even more promising. I'm not going to spoil this with Spam, nor am I ready to publish these tricks for the world to see. In the meantime, please drop me an email for more information.
