How to Make Money with Freebie Websites

Idea Man
In your Internet travels I am sure you have come across ads or websites offering free Ipods, XBoxes, or something like that. While some of those may be scams, many of them are not. That's right, you can really earn those items and they are "somewhat" free.

I first got involved with incentivized freebie websites when I was playing online poker. If I signed up at a new poker room they would give me a bonus but there were several referral sites that if I clicked through and signed up through them I would get the same bonus from the poker room plus an additional bonus from the referral site.

It worked like this: every online poker room was desperate for new players so they offered them a bonus. The poker rooms also had an affiliate program where they would offer a referrer a certain amount to refer new players as well. Certain referral sites sprung up across the Internet that were willing to split that referral bonus with the player. However, they put in a stipulation. They would only give the player the bonus if the player would either send more players to the ferral site or fulfill several bonuses at several poker sites themselves. The players could choose between referring 3, 5, or even 10 more players and get bigger bonuses in the form of popular electronic items such as Ipods or cash paid via Paypal.

It is hard to explain and if you don't understand hopefully you will by reading on. It's almost something you could do yourself. For instance, the Hostgator affiliate program offers $100.00 for a sign up. Now, $100.00 is quite a lot and what if you would be happy with only $50.00? If you could find someone who wanted to sign up you could split the $100.00 with them and send $50.00 their way for signing up through your link. You would be happy and they would be happy. Better yet, maybe you could put in a requirement that in order for them to get the $50.00 from you they had to find another person to sign up. Then you would make even more.

This is what is happening with incentivized freebie websites. What's more, there are now forums popping up that provide a meeting place for people to get together to recruit one another. It is, afterall, embarrassing to ask all your friends to participate and so these forums offer a meeting place for likeminded individuals.
Please take a look at the forum at http://www.freelunchroom.com/board/ as that is where a lot of action is taking place and where people are making very real money.

If you have any doubt that money is being made in this IFW industry then please go to that site and go to the trophy room that is the third thread down in the 'Water Cooler" section. This is where people brag about how much they have made and they supply screen prints of their PayPal accounts. Some of the payments are in the mid hundred dollar range. There are tutorial sections and all sorts of help on that forum to get you started understanding exactly what is going on.

What exactly is going on? This is where people come (newbies usually) to fulfill other peoples referral requirements. As a newbie you will be offered many opportunities to sign up for items through other peoples referral links. As a reward for doing that, the person will pay the newbie anywhere from $20 to $50 for signing up and completing the offer(s). This is called "going green".

As a newbie, once you find a referal person (called a trader) you want to work for, you click through their link to a website that will have tons of offers. First you have to select the prize you want and to get that prize (either electronics or PayPal cash) you will have to refer others at a future time. Before that though, you will need to fulfill that first offer and earn some money from your trader.

Unfortunately, most of these offers are not totally free. In the beginning, you will have to use your money to make money and the pure profit you make will, in reality, be small. In some cases, you might even do a trade and the amount you spend in offers will be HIGHER than the amount you make for the green; so it will actually be a financial loss instead of a gain... BUT if it's an offer you genuinely want to begin with then it might be worth it.

The types of offeres that are available are really not that great and ones we have all heard of before. Some are Columbia House DVD's, Dermacia, credit card companies, loans, and other things of that sort. There are a lot of trial offers that you have to pay shipping and handling on and then you will have to remember to cancel your "membership" or you will get charged next month. That is how many of these companies work...they give you a "free" one month supply and hope you like the product or forget to cancel next month so that they can automatically ship more and bill you.

In order to do these "free" offers you will need to use a credit card. If you don't have a credit card you cannot do them. The traders will then ALWAYS pay you in PayPal funds so your credit card will be going down and your PayPal balance will be going up after you get paid.

Participating in this way it is very hard to make any significant money with freebie websites. Another reason it is hard is that once you have done a trial you can't do it again so your ability to make money as a newbie is very limited. But everyone has to start out just like this and the most successful ones know that this period of doing offers for cash is the "paying your dues" period which is necessary for future financial success. There is a rating system at FreeLunchRoom much like that of Ebay so that you can have an idea of the honesty of the person you are dealing with. It is important to get your rating up as high as possible so that people are willing to work with you.

Now it is time to make the bigger money by "jumping the fence". When you are a complete newbie, you pretty much have to learn the ropes by fulfilling other peoples referrals and learning as much as you can. You have to fulfill one offer yourself on every website anyway before you can yourself go for the bigger dollars and items. Once you do that one offer though, you are free to go recruit your own helpers.

This is definitely where the good money is made. Would you rather be a little worker bee fulfilling offers for someone else or would you rather have a whole horde of newbies working for you? Some of the successful traders do this full time and spend most of their day trying to find others to work for them.

At first it would be smart to choose the smaller prizes or cash amount so that you can make sure you are not juggling too many plates at the same time. As a trader, you will want to learn everything you can because if you are going to be successful at finding newbies willing to work for you and fulfill offers for you, you will often have to walk them through it. You will be the one paying them the money and leading the way therefore the more you know the better.

Once you get the hang of it and build your reputation and PapPal account up, you can start going for the three, four, and five hundred dollar cash prizes. Then you will be needing as many as 10 different referrals and you will have to make sure you can deal with that many people and have everything go smoothly.

Once you reach the stage where you are the trader, you no longer have to worry about credit card bills, keeping track of offers, and remembering to cancel the offers you signed up for. You will do everything through PayPal including paying your newbies and getting paid by the referral websites. Your only challenge will be setting up shop in the forum, recruiting newbies to work for you, making sure they understand what to do, and keeping track of them.

If done correctly you can make well over a thousand a month with only a minimal amount of work. Some people make over $2000 a month. As with any job, though, the more you learn and the more work you put into it the more you can make. There are many different freebie websites to get involved with and many of them allow you to do unlimited offers. Listed below are several to get started with.
