Second Life is a great 3D virtual environment and may be the way the internet is heading in the future. Right now though it is far from perfect. One of the most challenging aspects of this 3D environment is making money. Just like in your first life, Second Life struggles with making money carry over. Many things carry over from your first life to your second, but today we are going to talk about how to get money, because those Linden Dollars are getting really expensive.

Making money in Second Life isn't that easy, but it is doable, if you don't want to purchase Linden Dollars you are going to have to go to work there. You can build things and sell them, this is probably one of the best ways to make money in Second Life. Owning a store and selling things out of it can be very exciting, and can also even pave the way to launch your own real life business!

You can become a sort of 3D real estate agent and buy and sell land. Many people in Second Life do this to make extra money and it can become one of your most lucrative endeavors in the 3D virtual land. Many people make a good sum of money on Second Life, enough to supplement their income and even quit their day job, although this is very rare.

Another way to make money in Second Life is camping, you can sit in a place and get a certain amount of Linden Dollars or L$ per hour. Usually camping pays very little L$, so it is unfavorable. You can also get a job as a model, adult dancer, escort, DJ or host or hostess. People are always looking for reliable workers in Second Life just like in the real world. These jobs have varying levels of pay. You can also own a piece of land, or a club and make money though selling advertisement space. Selling ad space is one of the best ways to make money in Second Life, but you have to make sure that you have a popular club or spot, otherwise people are not going to want to advertise at your club!

So those are just a few ideas on how to make money in Second Life. You can transfer your L$ balance and sell them on the Lindex for a certain amount, usually about 260 Lindens for $1, you can then transfer this into your pay-pal account or keep it in your Second Life account and buy things in game.
