Most romance novels sell for less than a quarter or not at all. But there are also many that sell for several dollars a piece, and some that sell for quite a bit of cash.
Lesbian romance is one of the best sellers that I've seen. They sell especially well in lots of three or four books. You can probably make ten to twenty bucks for a small lot of lesbian romance books.
Scottish and highlander themed romance books sell really well too. Medieval era romance is popular too. Modern, newer romance books in these themes are more popular and sell better than the older ones.
Christian romance is also very popular. While not quite as popular as lesbian, Christian and other religious themed romance books still have a large market.
There's a large demand for paranormal themed romance books. Science fiction, fantasy, time travel, fairy and vampire romance is all popular and sells good.
Another way to sell used romance books is to sell in lots with a very specific theme. I've personaly sold several "lots" of three to four Christmas themed romance books for up to 10 dollars. Group your books by theme, and use those keywords in your title. Try various themes, like single mom romance, military, or cooking. It makes your listing special and stand out from the crowd.
Write your titles to sell, using your keywords wisely. Here are some good auction title ideas: "Lot of four fairy, fantasy romance books" , "Lot of three gay, lesbian, erotic, romance books, novels". Make sure the word "lot" is in the title of your auction, as buyers often use this keywork for buying more than one book. Research completed auctions that sold well, and try to figure out why. Emulate them.
As to where to find tons of used romance books you can find for super cheap, try looking in thrift stores, yard sales, and even used books stores. Almost anywhere that sells used romance books sells them for pennies. I wouldn't buy them for more than a quarter, and 50 cents if I'm positive it will sell well.

Post a CommentGood tips. I sell a lot of paranormal romance books on Ebay.
Very very interesting article :)
This ought to help some potential sellers on Ebay. I tend to stick to rarer books but I used to sell lots of romance books and make a nice profit in the days when Ebay fees were low and sales were brisker :)
